it is always 25meg. My last trip I was using 1GB cards and I switched to taking Jpegs for some pictures which I SERIOUSLY regretted after the trip.
I have always felt that the raw file of s3pro is really remarkable. Next time if I every get the s5, I will get 4GB cards....
I never shot raw with the s3pro coz the writing is too slow, only took up raw with the D2H and since it is a 4MP camera, the raw file is not so big, usually 3-4mb only. 25mb raw file...
Even a 500GB HDD runs out pretty fast at 25MB a file
For my personal stuff, Jpegs are more than enough, and then some. I rarely shoot RAW on my S3s.
Anyway, I managed to borrow a S5 to play with for a few days. Some sample shots from yesterday evening (yeah, pretty lousy weather and all...).
i love my s3 so much i cant bear to let it go
yesterday i had a chance to try out the S5pro mounted with a nikkor 105vr on board.. however there seems to be a small glitch as in the lens itself is capable of an aperture of F2.8, but on the cam display screen it shows biggest aperture at F3 both in M mode and A mode, i tried adjusting with the command dial but still shows F3 max. dunno wuts the problem also.
see post #49![]()
not only with s5 and s3. friend of mine tells me it also the same with his d200. apparently there is a writeup on this somewhere. from my tests, i can only get f2.8 from 3m onwards.
just did a test...its the same with my f80 also. so its a nikon thing.
oic...thanks for the clarification.. i shall bring my d200 down and test.. so it just the 105vr thingy or happens to all nikkor lens capable of f2.8?
so far i only notice this on my 105vr. but possibly same with the other nikkor f2.8 macro lenses.
Hah! Please wait. Personally, I can only say I like my S3s a lot more... all the work and places I'd gone with them. A new S5 will take a bit of getting used to. Though having 5 customable WBs is nice to have (and probably useless to me). As for all the F1 modes, they don't really do much for me. The AF is noticeably faster. The metering spot-on, but again, doesn't do much for me, I've gotten used to getting good out of the S3.ah... if u giving up ur s2 or s3 anytime soon, let me know hor? :bsmilie:
well...maybe the S6 for u man...hahahahah

The one irritating thing - without grip feels small. With MD200, is chunky. And AA battery life is not so great... 6xAAs-on-the-S5 dont seem to last as 4xAA-on-the-S3. That is sad.
Until such time Eastgear or somebody brings in NP150s cheap, this camera isn't going to be under consideration at all.
