No batteries to use with my D70, so use a Canon Ixus to take this shot. :bsmilie:

Ha??? Are you sure?

AFAIK, EN-EL3 and EN-EL3a is only different in capacity (interchangeable). But EN-EL3e???

Arto.

Yap, just updated my previous post with the photo of the EN-EL3e.
I think should work with D70, else they won't give, but I'm sure D200 can. :bsmilie:

I think EN-EL3 is 1400mAh (not sure about EN-EL3a) if I did not remember wrongly. EN-EL3e seems to be 1500mAh judging from the picture posted.

they use the same charger

so the contact points are the same

EN-EL3e has an extra contact point to pass information to the camera

I think the D200 cannot use older batts while the older cameras can use the new batt

as compared to voltages, can older cameras uses batt of different voltages?
EN-EL3 is 1400mAh only.

if it shorts my camera they will have to replace it as well

3 more cheers for NSC

EN-EL3 is 1400mAh only.

anyway it should not be a problem, I think that the 1400mAh is the capacity and should work
after all we use AA rechargables of different mAh ..

Anyone can confirm

is the old batts also 7.4V?

I see.....

EN-EL3 is 1400mAh.
EN-EL3a is 1500mAh, same capacity as EN-EL3e (1500mAh), but on D70/D70s EN-EL3e can't pass the battery level/information like on D200. . Ok, clear ;) .

yes, 7.4V too.

mAh means capacity, so.. our new battery have a longer life on a single charge?

Yes! All 7.4V. I just found out that EN-EL3a is also 1500mAh. I think that shouldn't have any problem with the older model either.

Voltage should be 7.4V also. Capacity maybe different, but voltage remains the same. Higher capacity means can take picture more between charging  .

Arto.

that's good

Thank you NSC for the free upgrade

So, for D50, D70 and D70s user, it is better to ask for EN-EL3e instead of EN-EL3a, in case you want to upgrade to D200 :bsmilie: .

Arto.

I'm one of the lucky fellows to have the faulty batteries....if only buy TOTO got so lucky...:bsmilie:

I am so unlucky, all my 4 batteries start with number "2" or "3", no recall.
