Recall of Nikon EN-EL3 Batteries...

How come my Nikon battery production number only got 3 number/alphabet instead of 4.... it says 2NF.... anyone else similar to my case....??? :sweat:

...just saw this over the Nikon website. Apparently some EN-EL3 can overheat until deforming the camera! Guess that's a good way of 'shaping' our own vertical grip for the D70 / D70s.;p

my d70 battery slot, there is a sticker piece of instruction on how to slot the battery in, recently I notice the stickers slightly 'deformed', anyone had the same problem?

I believed those with 3 number/alphabet belongs to the very early batch. My very first battery that came with the camera belongs to this group

these early lots of batteries are likely to be made in japan. mine is.

My guess (typical industry standard):
The 1st number is the year, example 4=year 2004
The 2nd number is the month, example 9=September
The last 1 or 2 alphabets are the batch indicator
