Rain

Not in the early morning, please. School re-opens tomorrow.

I pity the dancer at Singapore River Festival. They have to play with dirty river water.

Very heavy rain early morning today. Another Sumatra squall?

Leaned this term from you, 9V-Orion Images. :)
The torrential rain and flooding this morning is partially attributed to Typhoon Conson, similar flooding was also brought about by Typhoon Durian and Typhoon Utor in the final months of 2006. :)

Funny, I thought it's the season of the NE Moonsoon and the density should be on the East Coast but from the chart the rain is mainly on the western side:dunno:

It is still currently the inter-monsoon period whereby the variable wind direction gradually shifts from predominantly southwest to northeast between late September to early December.

The current episode of La Nina event in the Pacific Ocean could also affect the weather pattern resulting in heavier than usual intense tropical thunderstorms throughout Southeast Asia in the upcoming months.

How to interpret wind barbs.

It has been raining ever since the late afternoon. If the island of Singapore is to be located in a northern temperate region, it could just jolly well be snowing right now. :bsmilie:

Sumatran squall inbound. Heavy rain alert issued.

Extreme gust of wind expected.

as usual, always north west side of SG affected.
The western side of Singapore is generally wetter than the eastern side as the higher elevation of central Singapore actually causes a rain shadow effect.

It's about time, I guess. :)

My anemometer recorded a maximum wind gust of 22.8 m/s or 82.08 km/h.
