Lol 5x 8GB SDHC cards is a lot. When I went to Greece I filled up just under 2½ 8GB SDHC cards, all shot in RAW, 10 megapixels K10D. I thought I should have about 1000-1100 shots based on the 480 RAW shots per SDHC estimate, but I've found that I actually took almost 1800 shots. RAW files are also losslessly compressed (JPEGs use lossy compression), so the size of RAW and JPEG files can vary depending on the complexity of the scene.

That's the price at SLR Revolution and Manly, which are the current favourite places for Pentaxians to go to. I understand stocks of K-x are currently out at both places (the white one maybe be available) with stocks coming in about a week. Situation may be different at the other shops, best if you call them all up to check.

I think 2x SDHCs is more than enough if you shoot JPEGs. If you shoot RAW, it may be enough, but you if not, you can spend some time maybe while on the coach or back in the hotel to look through your shots and delete the ones you know you don't want.

SLR Revo has red n white single lens (low quantity) on Saturday when I was there.

Called Manly about 2 pm., they doesnt have stock for dual lens. (didnt ask for single lens kit, as i'm not interested).
But he is being promised by agent (most prob Emjay) that stock would arrive in 1 - 2 days time, so lets keep our finger crossed.

as a beginner, i think just go for jpg will do... don't go for raw... anyway most likely will not edit the photo much...
agree with woefulwabbit, 2x 8GB is should be more than enough in jpg...
everyday take about 100 photo for 1 month then fill up the 2 card....

Bought my 300 dual kit from manly yesterday. Mr Quek was friendly and all soft but he didn't serve me much. The agent for pentax was there and we chatted for a while. According to him, orders have been made but it seem that orders are short across europe thus stock replenishment will be slow.

Interest on other colors for the company not so keen for now because of the low stock.

yes it give you longer focal distance. The standard kit lens 1 is 18-55mm so you can only zoom in to 55mm. Self explanatory 50-200mm will alow you to zoom to much further 200mm range

Great service and honest guy and not pushy, won't hussle u to buy other accessories and items, Very sincere and i enjoyed the process chatting with him during the purchase of my k-x.
