Pentax SMC 100 F f2.8 Macro!
vs
Pentax ASAHI SMC M 100mm f4 Macro!
So, is the manual len as good, albeit f4 macro only? is there basic controls or settings to watch out for, using manual lens?
regards,

seafone, try entering one of these shots in PentaxForums July contest. Think it'll have a good chance of winning. http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/monthly-photo-contests/31184-theme-contest-23-july-2008-a.html
Think FW might win the Jun one if what I saw on poll is correct:think:

If you are able to have A setting from the lens where you can control from the front or rear dial of the camera for macro, would be much better. Auto focus is quite useless for macro.

hi otc, your flower is gorgeous. the depth of field is so shallow.
if you say f4 is good enough, then it is prefered to use the manual 100 because it is cheaper, light weight and simple to operate for field trips (hiking)... lots to learn from masters like you and longko![]()
