airconvent, all shot in jpeg. WB set to tungsten. Aperture priority at f11 on a tripod. SR off. ISO 200. Exposure time was between 20-30 sec. All shots straight from camera, no cropping. Tweaked levels slightly in Photoshop and resized. Run my custom script and compressed file size to meet CS file size limit using Fireworks. :)

whoa! thanks, Dennis. I would never have imagined to use 30 sec exposure and F11 for such shots but then again, I normally do not have my tripod with me too. Usually night scene if I use manual would have selected widest aperture and ISO 400 or 800...Looks like I can experiment further on this...:)

thanks guys

airconvent - no, never bring my ir filter, no tripod either =(
i wish i had, i thought i was just going to sulk in the hotel room because i don't gamble

the first picture of those industrial things, i used this photoshop action called "urban acid"
you can google for it, i think
pretty cool effects, which work well on certain scenes, including particular portraits

thanks.... I am still at the stage of "getting basic photos right"..,,before I can try special effects :bsmilie: Thanks for the tip!

Not HDR, but GND? ;)
yep, thankfully the light on the merlion came on
so i didn't need to hdr it
i really need a whole arsenal of gnds, then i can be free of hdr
i don't really like it, makes the picture softer sometimes
but no $ =(
nice !!!

btw, what do u use for HDR? photoshop?

naw, photomatix
photoshop's built-in hdr function, at least for cs2 is horrible

Hi
I see your new toy is working nicely ..nice colours and very contrasty. I like the sharpness too.
But with a model like her, I think even a toys-r-us camera will look great too! :bsmilie: (just kidding lah)
Who is the MAJ General? :bsmilie: Nice hat...

Nice testing shots. But I'm sure the longer DA50-135 would be even better on these people ;) Go and grab one lah :bsmilie:

Was it the Violander 125/2.5 macro? Nice lens ;p Next time you might wanna go abit closer to the target so you'd have even better macros :).

Thanks Richard. Lens so far so good out in the field. ;) The friendly MAJ General and his hat caught many attentions from photographers.
