Snowywolf, sorry I shouldn't use the word colour halos. Not sure how to explain it. I'd use Lab sharpening for a subject like this. Paiseh, old eyes.

Comparing the 2 pics, I think I know what Dennis means....
For the USM-ed pic, you can see a thick border of a different color around the another color.
I didn't notice it by itself though....
