You made me wanna have a Signa 10-20 too ;p Very beautiful shot, I love it.

And I agree, you should come to the west side and take some rides on the CCK LRT sometimes. I'm sure you'd be rewarded :)

hrm cck? maybe i will, i need new places to explore =D
thanks fengwei!

more sigma 10-20 on k100d

equatorer - you need gnd
hdr from raw or hdr from many jpg? it is one thing to make a picture look nice to yourself, and another to make it look realistic still

Didn't shoot much lately. Just share a street candid I took a couple of years back:

I kinda like the high key effect. Don't know if you guys would like it too :)

Another HDR? Very nice indeed ...

thanks, wish i could have gotten closer actually
but bad habits, only had one really wide lens (10-20) and no time, the kid disappeared after the aghast parents scooped him up and ran off

he was actually running around quite near a rugby game hahaha

this wasn't hdr, was taken around sunset, so there was just enough light in the sky
and the spotlight provided the rest of it for the foreground =)

@alanswan

thanks for the comments.. :-)

ya right, I am still practising.
used 3 raw exposures for that one, combined by photomatrix, but really cannot get the effect i need, especially the sky near the horizon, it seems every slight difference in tone is magnified in HDR.
any experiences u can share?:)

thx for ur comment seafone, i think that composition still need improvement.. not very balanced.

This is another HDR shot on that day, still quite fake.....

Nice effect. Is this SP? Sure looks like it :)

the last one is a bit fake for the sky color in singapore.. cos i batch processed all images, think should not add so much saturation..

someone still mugging in the campus on sunday

This man looks kinda scary to me :D

I was walking along South Buona Vista Road and suddenly saw a beautiful bird in the bush at the roadside. It was less than 2m from me.

Luckily my PENTAX K10D was with me. :)

nice catch! especially the first picture, well-composed also.

The kit lens is quite decent in performance, surely there are effects that dslr can do and dc cannot, but i rather think it as an attitude problem.
After gotten k10d, i would ponder more about one picture and usually decide to save the shutter, but with a dc i would just snap a few without ever thinking.
what do u guys think?

Thanks. Well, the 1st picture is cropped ;p. I was using 50mm lens so I couldn't zoom in more.
The original version:

Just playing around with my new k100DS and the 18-55 kit lens. I haven't learned the ins and outs of this camera yet.

Cropping, resizing and some quick and dirty sharpening in irfanview (don't have PS installed on my lab PC). Colors are from from calibrated on this TN panel monitor, so it may look weird

tried out the 75-300 today, hard to control, averagely only 1 acceptable pic in 5, mostly blur...
but fortunately the AF is fast

in order to maintain a fast shutter speed, used iso 800 sometimes, after cropping still quite ok but the original ones are disastrous.
