I think you should get even closer to make full use of that increased DOF.
Congrats on the new Toy. :)

Passed by a Harvey Norman sale yesterday, EP-1 only $500+, their prices sure fall fast....
But, I am greedy, want Kx like high ISO performance, so have to wait for the current crop of EVIL to drop price before thinking about it again.

cannot go closer - already at minimum focusing distance (7cm) ;p but its only 1:2 max magnification so DOF is more forgiving. the sensor is aps-c so if paired with a raynox for 1:1, DOF will still be very shallow.

Oh.. ok.
I thought its smaller sensor.
M-mount module sure is tempting.
I got 2 LTM lenses. Maybe they will come in useful one day :)

Nice ones from Penang. Maybe I should venture out to do some sightseeing next time I am there for work.

The beach shots is HDR?

agree with that :) looking forward to its release. if the price is reasonable and the sensor performance is good, it is certainly a viable compact, high-performance setup for those times when a DSLR is not feasible or convenient to bring out.

haha... its a good compact setup lah... there are problems with outdoor use - flash is a problem. still experimenting there.

2x5 horizontal frames. the fisheye-like stitching works this time, if not this is just a flat perspective. K7 & sigma 10-20

anyone trying fireworks later at night here? :bsmilie:

Nice perspective. Too bad you didn't catch any light trails from cars. where is this? is it open to public?

WK, these are simply awesome...
Just wished I had the time to go out and catch the lovely light in your shots.
Thanks Denis. Hope you do have time soon. Lower Peirce remains a firm favourite for peaceful pictures. :)

Bras Brasah Complex HDB, it is open to public but please try to be quiet and be nice to the residents - I always say this because I have observed huge groups of photographers just clogging up HDB corridors and in short, being a public nuisance, chatting loudly and making a ruckus and bringing up the Ugly Singaporean in themselves. I mean, if I came home and I had to say "excuse me" to the whole row of photographers blocking my way, and then I couldn't catch some shut eye because they were all talking loudly outside my house, I would imagine that I would be pissed. /endrant

Thanks for the pointers Edutilos. No worries for me though... loner always go alone! haha

Another sunset from MBS Sky Garden.
The day was a bit hazy which limited the view beyond, but at least the clouds was sparse enough and the sunset brilliant.
Can't ask for a better day.

Some photos from this year's NDP shot using two extreme focal lengths, 10mm and 500mm. Saw two young guys with K-5/7 and some DA* lenses around Esplanade. Anyone here?
