Went to the Asian Civilisation Museum with the family after the Pentax Outing. Interesting place to visit. Rather dark at certain areas thus good place to try the high ISO shots.

Shot with DA35 Macro f2.8 1/60 ISO3200 + an attempt at B&W conversion,

Imam, How do you find the fa 50mm macro. Minimum focusing distance at max 1:1,? sharpness? bokeh? Easy to use? This one cost more than panagor 55mm. Guess lighting softer needed compares to longer focal length. Easier to use f16 or f22.

Marcus, minimum focusing distance at 1:1 is only 2-3cm. Bokeh is quite nice, but I still prefer FA 100mm macro's

Sharpness is razor sharp. Here's 100% crop at f2.8.

IMGP0115cc.jpg

I normally shoot macro with high ISO (320 to 800) at f5.6 to f7.1, so haven't tried to shoot at f16 or f22 (need tripod, and i haven't cleaned my sensor for months, confirm got alot of dust :bsmilie:)

let me hang on to you for a little longer.... read on

TKS, IMAM. Looks like its difficult to place a 33 mm tube for fa 50 macro to capture bugs cos it will be extremely near the front element.

Luckily I managed to find a place where they have not removed the railway tracks, I thought they would have been completely demolished by now

Several Months ago i decided to to a Malaysian resort off the Sepang Gold Coast. It was called Golden Palm Tree Iconic Resort & Spa. Stretching 1 km (or so that say) into the ocean, it has a main "branch" leading to the lovely infinty pool and several smaller "branches" forming a palm tree formation (probably inspired by Dubai and the Maldives chalets). It's a fairly quiet place to just chill and relax but some of the sunsets that so conveniently appear for you were pretty nice and of course worth a tripod handy to capture. As i drove it was not too difficult to have most of my equipment with me and take time to find your shots... here's some...

Most shots were taken with the 18-55 DAL kit lens cos i always think it is still a decent piece of equipment to use and some were with a 10-20mm Sigma. and a few more with DAL 55-300..

This is my favorite. It was taken from the entrance of our 2nd floor chalet.

The 2nd day's sunset was even more dramatic... most of these pics were taken with the 10-20mm
