FA*24/2 -HDR -3 exposures of 2EV

I was quite lucky to catch 2 nice days of sunset in the MBS area.
The FA* has really grown on me. Proving to be versatile as a daily walk around lens without being too heavy despite my initial reservations of it.

now this is amazing! It has a very HDR feel to it.

Got a chance to do some street, land/city scape photography of Penang during my last visit to this heritage city.
Hope you guys like the photos …

Start off with

1# "The Clan Jetties"

2# Located along the Weld Quay are Penang's historical clan Jetties, home to fishermen, traders and dock workers.

Did you handhold that shot? Wow! cos i thought MBS has a "no tripod" policy at skypark...

Brilliant. Beautiful.

Thanks man! :)

Thanks. Then I failed... was hoping it did not look too HDR :D
Try again next time.

I though its no tripod as well. However, no one stopped me bringing one in. I did not use it though, until I saw some folks use theirs, so I said "Heck, just use it"
I guess just need to be discreet

HDR is a tool/technique more than an "effect". the "effect" people talk about (or sometimes avoid) is overdone tone-mapping. 2 completely different things.

Decided to bring the FA*80-200 for a spin again.
This time at the Zoo.
Did not shoot much as it was only a short trip with visiting relatives, but I'm surprised that the FA* is not too bad to carry around.
The versatility of 80mm to 200mm is certainly good compare to my usual setup of using a 50mm and 300mm prime.

Edit :
I did spy a very interesting setup which I will most likely try out as well.
A fella using a takumar lens caught my attention while in the Fragile Forest enclosure.
On closer inspection of his setup, he was using a 'hood loupe' to do MF with his lens.
The hood loupe seemed to make the who setup more stable than just hold the camera hands out stretched to do LV MF.
(imagine your viewfinder is now the hood loupe)

I asked the person if he minded me taking a photo of the setup to share here, but he declined.
