salleh, thanks for the idea!! will try out and post if got results... ;)

Btw, if u want Polyfoam I got it. My workplace has loads of them that we always throw.

Thin ones and thick ones(like the one I'm using). Sometimes I do have the rounded Polyfoam and was thinking maybe the rounded ones can wrap around the ring flash. But then again its a bit thick. If u want I can keep it for u n pass u sometimes.

Same goes to any bros whom wants polyfoam. Pm me and I will keep it. n pass u guys during outing or meet up near my place.

5 jan 11 k5 panagor 026-1 by luctomar, on Flickr

Took these with Panagor, f16 and 1/180 secs flashlights.

Saw some parasites on the body of the fly and managed to captured a few more. The fly could hardly move. seems like its body was sucked dry by those parasites.

Also, I think my K5 has some stain issue from the centre lower portion, visible when I stopped down to f16 and underexposing it.. Guess will be going to Emjay soon but will miss K5:bsmilie:

yes... i can see the dark marks... u have a sensor cleaning swab? maybe do a wet clean to make sure that its not just dirt?

the O-ICK 1 may not be able to clean that off... might be more straightforward to just do a quick wipe with a swab and lens cleaning liquid.

i can pass u some if u need.

Hmm looks like String of Pearl stains.

But the insect with that parasite looks scary. oh man.

Tks, Donald, Encik Riscal. I had dropped the ock1 stick accidentally and maybe tats the reasons for the stain when I used it to clean the sensor dust. I think now it has more dust after cleaning.:bsmilie:.. I still use K5 first. Its a great body compare to all previous ones.

since there so many macro discussions here, i dont have to create a new thread for my qs.

Any experts here tried those cheap K-mount macro extension tubes from ebay?
gonna get 1 set to play with.

I won't recommend you those china made macro extension tube, your viewfinder will be very dark when you stop down the lens. Try to find the one with aperture lever, if you're lucky, it won't be that expensive. Last week I bought Kenko AF ext tube from ebay singapore for SGD$50.

wah.. thats a really good deal!
can post a pic of ur tubes?

btw, wats the difference btw with and without aperture lever?
coz i'll be using with old manual lenses, full manual

kenko AF ext tube : http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=434073

aperture lever to keep the lens wide open while you are focusing, then the blades will close when you press the shutter. without aperture lever it will behave like m42 lens.

thats a very good deal indeed

i've pretty much given up on tubes already... i find it bloody difficult to find the subject through the VF with tubes attached cos the lens doesn't focus to infinity with tubes...

i do magnification the lazyman way now with TC. a decent 7-elements TC won't affect pix that much, esp since we step down to F8 and above for more DOF.

but a good TC also not cheap...

u'll be surprised... what's your budget? on a lucky day, a lot can be achieved for S$100.

follow the same strategy as oceanpriest ;) good deals come once in awhile on evil-bay.

i managed to get my pk-a vivitar 2x macro converter for a very good price.

if u're ok with pure manual pk mount, the prices are even better ;)

But using TC does it affect IQ for Macro? coz I never use TC before.

Depends on the TC i think. This one looks good : http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/photographic-equipment-sale/128238-sale-kenko-1-5x-pz-auto-focus-teleplus-shq-teleconverter-nos-worldwide.html

Those cheap TC from ebay with shipping already S$40-60, why not invest in Raynox that we know its quality for sure, can get used one from BnS as low as S$80 ;p

Allow me answer this donald;).. Macro converter converts normal 50 mm lens to macro 1:1 mag while a teleconverter converts 50mm to 100mm ie double up the focal length. The vivitar macro converter does both function. It has to be a macro converter and it aslo acts as a teleconveter. The one listed in ebay is a teleconverter that double up the focal length.

But using TC does it affect IQ for Macro? coz I never use TC before.

Just my opinion, addition of glass always degrades quality of pictures. So My macro converter is sleeping in my cabinet. Having said that, detritus has quite sharp pics from his macro converter.:)

thanks for the compliment :embrass: but seriously, its so-so only lah... macro is always either hit or miss...

for me, its between being able to take a pic that is slightly less sharp, but with good working distance and magnification, or not being able to take a pic at all.

as with all things, its a trade-off. i simply do not have the skills to manage tubes the way Marcus is able to

i struggle to find the subject through the VF with tubes attached and i'm clumsy so i end up scaring the subject when i get close enough to focus with tubes.
