shot this with A200 and trying 2 different diffusers. Longer focal lenth requires more flash power and existing aluminium seems of no use. Ended with just stofen diffusers on 2 different angles and still some harsh shadows found.
Will explore again.

My first ant mimic spider found at Bukit Batok Nature Park this afternoon. This photo was taken with a newly acquired DFA 100 and the plate diffuser & in-built flash.
Thanks bro Desmond for the well wishes. Must be your lucky star rubbing off on me to find this rare nature oddity. :bsmilie:
Indeed a nice shot, great lightings as well. Did the ant incapacitate the other one?
I have never come across this mimic spider ant, so far. Only one shot meh?

the red ant was already dead. The AMS was lifting the dead carcass up and down trying to fend off the robber flies. got other shots but only from different angle.
Post note: ok, another one of my fav from the same AMS
My few cents on colored GND is that its actually better to add in a 'blue' in PP than with a colored filter. With normal Gnd, you can add warm or cool tones in PP, or keep the original. With a colored GND, there is no going back. IMo, they were more useful in the day of flim, where there was no easy way to PP in the blue/warm sky.
My try on morning shot.

today shot many shots with dual flashes with diffusers and seems to have lots of keepers.
I like the colors and shadows is kept to the minimum. PP with picassa to enhance highlight.
vivitar 105,same lens Donald just ordered:bsmilie: Will not go wrong with this lens for macro.
