Usually not very interested to take fly due to the lack of colour but this fella just pipped my interest with bubble gum blowing through its "mouth". had been observing this fly flying around the flowers in NIE. took this shot just as it emerged from the flower and about to fly off. seemed that the fly was looking for nectar going around the flowers. thought only bees collect nectar? maybe, sg is so clean, fly also got to survive on nectar? :dunno:

as usual, K20D with my plate diffuser. shot was taken with the hood on.

nice series. a good trip to the zoo, indeed.

not really an animal shooter but just my 2 cents worth. keep a look out for the animals' eyes. personally, i feel catching the animals' stare / eyesight will pose a better photograph.

for illustration, i attach this photograph of a brown capuchin monkey during one of the pentax outings for reference. didnt have many keeper during my outings cos not many zootizens stared at me. maybe i am not handsome

thanks, richard. not gg for the aug outing?

Thanks seefei
Can only know if I am free closer to the date. Anyway I am not really a macro person as past attempts at macro shots have failed miserably. Now more for street photography. But I can still enjoy your excellent macro shots. :)

He's stuck with NEX outing.

The NEX is standing in very nicely for my Fuji F200EXR, thank you. ;p
Anyway, "reconfiguration" of my Pentax setup should be completed by end of the week assuming I finish that report that's urgently needed at the office.

Nice series of shots Greg. Images are sharp! :)

suppose to go to FW apt to raid his dry cabinet yesterday. along the way near Bukit Batok Nature Park, got distracted by these 3 fellas. at first, the action only involved 2. but then out of nowhere came the 3rd fella trying to join in the fun. but the 2 fella never hiew the outsider and continue with their coupling activity. after hanging around for a short while, the outsider left. the 3rd fella hang ard long enough for me to take this shot but not long enough to get a sharp one.

My first post here. Must admit that I hardly use other lenses on the K-x apart from the Lensbaby. These snapshots were taken using the 43mm lens.

Try out double flash mounted 90 degrees from each other with kirk macro bracket.

Vivitar. Only clone to remove some sensor spots.

my-6.jpg

Vivitar 105 macro. Seems the shadows is much diffused with double flash gun. Personally, I quite lilke this( NO PP done to the image)minimum shadows.

Long time never post any picture here,Never know taking water droplets can be so
siong for me,after 3 nights of trying i finally capture some decent one to show here.

Not so great about the shots but just happily snaping with my newly bought old K10D & a superb old marco lens from a good buddy here.

K10D / A 50mm 2.8 Marco.

Using offshoe single flash with PT-04 attach.

Setting: shutter speed 180 / Aperture F8 - 16 for all the shots i had took, just some
try & error shots to share.

1) Hold-on
