hey what do you guys think? i think it has quite significant effects on macro shooting, when i use aperture of f20 or smaller the 'soft focus effect' becomes more apparent.

haha
i dun want to read .. cause its a body problem so no point lolx...
i just bought my camera.. dont think i am going to change it
:P

good read but hor, becourse I not high high elucated so sometime along the way get lost and don't underthestand what he speaking. Can all the greaguate with the square hat help to explain? Please hor, next time buy you kopi, OK?

means the aperture kang (hole) small small hor, light will start to shoot open (diffract) through the kang lor, then the light fall on sensor hor, not together one (focussed) :bsmilie:

shoot at f22, get great DOF, but picture not as sharp as f11, you can set camera on tripod and do a test. never bluf you one.

yah, i realised that. most of the time i do macro handheld because of the subjects, so no choice have to use 1/200 shutter, then aperture always open wider because i don't want to shoot at iso more than 640. the resulting images are very sharp. when put on tripod slowly adjust for more DOF the picture becomes softer

so any lens sweet spot is f11 ar?

just a example lar, anyway a general rule of sweet spot is two stops down from wide open, some lens may be different due to lens optical design.

DCA! where are you!? TIME TO EMBRACE THE DARKSIDE ... MUAHAHAHAHAHA
This is so amusing. In another forum, to embrace the Darkside is to grow non-Tillandsia plants (air-plants).

air plants are nice! easy to maintain also ;p

not only less sharp...but also less detail can be seen when the diffraction "kick-in"

i shoot products a lot and sometimes i want every thing in focus

but sometimes no choice...i want everything to be in focus so got to trade off a bit with less details

fortunately 1DMKII can afford up to F16...while some others can only afford up to F8

used to shoot at f45 on products shots, want every parts in focus.

yah lor D2X overpriced, should be sold much much cheaper so that we can all buy :bsmilie: btw surprised that 10D, 20D, 300D, 350D all cannot make it compared to D70 leh

D70 is 6MP with 1.5x
10D, 300D is 6MP with 1.6x
20D & 350D is 8MP with 1.6x

of cos 20D & 350D has higher pixel density (more pixel in the same area)

that's why the photosites are smaller and the effect of diffraction will be worse

in the case of D2x, the pixel density is also the highest
