Can I find out what is the equivalent Canon/Nikon for K7 and their price range.

My suggestion is to look over the specs and judge for yourself. K7 falls in between a D90 and D300 (possibly D7 as well). Its meaningless to compare models by 'level' anyway. For the experts here, their camera would be expert level; my K7 would be entry level

Look at the specs and decide what you need/like.
MHO, a Pentax camera like the K7 offers much more for the money than a C or N.

The K7 is at the in the same prosumer class of the Canon 7D and the Nikon D300s, basically they all have these prosumer features on top of the mid-range features:

1. Weather resistance
2. 100% view finder (although the 7D has been proven to 'cheat' a bit on that)
3. Electronic level
4. AF assist lamp

Of course, there are differences between the cameras, and you have to look at specific numbers in details for performance comparisons... as for the price:

Pentax K-7: ~$1400
Canon 7D: ~$2400
Nikon D300s: ~$2440

the thing that sets them apart is the size and weight, no need to beef up biceps to carry those... heheh.

otherwise if your looking for the pro look heavy machinery guy... that hopes to be the next guy to be pasted on mall walls, maybe C and N is for you...

Sadly, as those few rebels here who fan the flames of rebellion over in the Newbie sub-forum will be aware. Many times the camera choice is really a 'no brainer'
Many times, other factors influences purchases.
(Yeah, being like Ken Watanabe is one of them......)

Kidding aside, all these cameras are good enough for general use. If you prefer to stay w/ the crowds, go and get a 7D or whatever the majority use. But if you want to be stand out from the rest, get a Pentax

Ken Watanabe is a Japanese actor paid by Canon to be a "communication partner" for appearing in those ads and commercials. He's there because he's got a recognizable face and the celebrity name recognition NOT because of his photographic credentials whatever they may be. Be a media celebrity first and maybe you got a shot for a camera endorsement deal too... :bsmilie:

k7 + 18-55 = $1380 + $100 = $1480
k7 + 50-200 = $1380 +$150 = $1530
k7 + dual kit super bundle = $1600!!!

at least you are enjoying it for months already and probably you are ready for an upgrade when new models are coming, well that is if you fall under the league of keeping up to date products.
