yep yep am trying to get my FA ltd collection in black colour, but my 77's in silver as well. Flowerpot, since your 43 is silver, interested in getting a silver 77? haha.. or i could exchange the silver 43 from u and exchange the 31 from fengwei to get a silver collection too.

Hi guys, any idea which stores still stock DA 40/2.8? Thanks :)

If you took time to do a simple search or went through some of the recent threads, you would get an answer. Cathay Photo had them just a week ago. Alternatively, an actual visit to the stores will immediately give you the answer if the lens is available.

Guys, with the DA Limiteds, and your FA Limiteds, do you find that you use Manual focus more often?

I actually found it quite a joy to use them in manual focus mode. With Prime lenses, you find yourself wanting to have more control, and I find myself using manual focus more often. This is particularly so with the wide angle 21mm where the close focus is only 21 - 120mm and the rest is infinity, so it's actually much faster to manual focus.

And this is making me go towards manual focusing when using my primes, and also causing me another round of LBA - hahaha.. looking at the voigtlander SL II lenses...

i have no choice with half of my lenses - the longest prime i have with auto focus is the FA 77, all my tele primes are MF! heh. But MF is quite fun, I have to agree - I managed to get a split screen for my MZ -3 (now you know how old school i am ;) ) and that adds to the joy of manual focusing!! do get one if you can.

With the other FA ltds i usually use AF to save time, but in poor light conditions I find myself switching to MF too - not sure if the new DSLRs have improved AF in low light?

I uses AF most of the time. I agreed prime lens is quite a joy to use and I find i pay more attention to composition when using primes. I like the close focus of the 21mm also as it make it very versatile lens. :)

Agree, DA21 is really a very versatile lens. its on my camera all the time.. .either sit on my *istD or K10d when I take either out for a walk. :)

You guys make me wanna get another DA21 back

Or just get the new DA Limited 35mm f2.8 Macro? Anyone interested to order from japan? We can share shipment cost!

heee.. think you should. The DA21 is just like a camera body 'cap'... versatile in the sense that the focal length is very useful to bring around for general shooting. Unlike DA40 or even FA50, those focal length are little too narrow to be use everywhere.

To me with DA21, you can just take the camera out... snap the person who sit opposite you on the table and still make a nice composition. DA40, things just appear too big. =)

cheerss..

You are really bad! Now I'm seriously considering getting one back ...

Saw some ppl taking up the option of going for a Sigma DP-1 and thought how would it be like if Pentax releases its DA LE 15mm... Wouldn't that be a better option k200D with a DA LE 15mm. I mean you could change all you like from 15mm --> 21mm --> 35mm Macro --> 40mm --> 70mm!!! Man.. it's like a rangefinder!

Ok .. noted, k200d is heavier, but the good thing about being a Pentaxian is the kawaii and equally functional LE lenses!

This thread is too much of a poison. Now really poisoned by the DA limited pancakes and cursing why Nikon only has the 45/2.8... Must stay away... any longer and my D300 will be up for sales.
