14mm f2.8... what is Panasonic thinking?

Yes, is very tempting :sweat:But the prices is still unknown.;( Really do not know wat to do??

Do look forward for a good zoom lens with a constant F number like 2 or 2.8?

need cheap primes like 50mm/1.8. right now, price is a barrier for most consumers looking to jump from p&s to enter the m4/3 market, with lenses being quite expensive.

What's the obsession with wide apertures? Does not really make a big difference on m4/3, 4/3... Choosing longer focal lengths will give you more bokeh if that is the reason you are looking for a wide aperture. ISO performance on newer cameras are making up for low light shooting anyway...

Agreed. If there is something like 12-60 F2.8 constant, then it will be hot-seller...of course price will be very hot as well...

okay then all i want is cheap lenses. hahaha.

There are 2 lenses for the m4/3 that I am really tempted to get but both also very expensive. The 7-14mm f4.0 and that new upcoming fisheye lens. The former is quite expensive at $1.5k and the fisheye lens should be quite expensive too (I suspect at least $1.2k) so I agree that the best is Panny and Oly gives us cheaper m4/3 lenses!

Ya that will be a great addition to the existing m4/3 lenses but I suspect it will also be grossly over-priced. At least $2k ba? Anyway I not compulsory must have a f2.8 lens, still quite happy with the 14-45mm so I rather they come out with cheaper lenses or make the 7-14mm and fisheye cheaper.

With the present kits lens is already fine for me,off course if Panasonic become very wise up willing to listen to the user and reduces their lens prices, it would be very promising for all M4/3 cam owner and believe will attract more user. Hope they understand the situation and give a better pricing for this fisheyes F 3.5.

Pancake len kit comes without I/S right? So how do you compensate for this?

Compensate with steady hands and try holding your breathe at the moment of pressing the shutter .. same thing the army taught you! ;)

yeah lor. the kit lens is great, just hoping for them to reduce the price of their other lenses.

Interested in getting the GF1.

Can the users share the experience of holding the GF1 like a DSLR with zoom lens and yet shooting at arm's length like a PnS? I can imagine it is quite weird. I use both a PnS and DSLR, just cannot imagine how to combine both.

by 50mm/f1.8 i assume that you are refering to a 'standard' prime lens. the 20mm/f1.7 is already a fast standard prime that is available. if you die die want a 50mm, then there is the ZD25mm/2.8 that has CDAF with the MMF1.

12-60/f2.8...5x zoom constant aperture lens...will be very big too...

yup. the lumix 7-14 is already S$1.5k compared to the ZD7-14 at S$2.5k, lumix has fewer elements and its not weather sealed....cannot imagine the price of a 12-60/f2.8

Compatibilities of DMC-GF1, DMC-GH1 and DMC-G1. :)

Thinking to get Olympus FL36R, which is cheaper Panasonic FL360 for GF1 when the stock comes in. But the above link mentioned no wireless shooting for Olympus flash FL36R with G1/GH1/GF1. My question is: can GF1 do wireless shooting in the 1st place? or only with FL360? Can any current owner of GF1 confirm this? Thanks in advance.

no wireless capability of it own, yr best alternative is to use a wireless trigger
