Voigtlander Ultron 35/1.7 ASPH LTM
Tatz all I have. My Pentax SMC K 135/2.5 not here yet. Seeya guys on Sat.
Book MC rokkor 58/1.2 + adapter 1st..haha
Haha. Bro. Adding a few more. Later will update. Some lenses r for sale. U guys get to test n b poisoned. My MC Rokkor 58/1.2 n CV 35/1.7 r not in those for sale. I highly recommend d Pentax SMC 50/1.2. Sharper than my 58/1.2 MC Rokkor but lose out on d Bokeh.
For me Bokeh is more important than sharpness for lens 1.2F
Bro coolhirako Hi just sharing, bokeh is over-rated in many situation. The background is more important rather than the bokeh 'per se'. A completely out of focus image has bokeh but it is acceptable? For 1.2 images, most bokeh will do as long as the background is not too distracting. The important thing is the image that u focus on must be sharp first and foremost, then we talk about the formation of the bokeh. Why do u think the 58mm f1.2 Nikon NOCT cost so much? if it is bokeh, the Rokkor 58mm f1.2 will surely cost the same but it is not. The ultimate is sharp where u focus and bokeh is secondary else might as well settle for soft focus lens and get all the bokeh u need. So choose your lens carefully and how u want to do it to achieve the picture that u want. Cheers and happy shooting.

I always say u must have the tools to create the image that u want. If u want bokeh, then the Rokkor 58 f1.2 may be the best lens for it but there is NO best for everything. A $100 macro lens can do better at macro than a $6000 leica when it comes to macro right? Becos the Leica is not design for macro. That is why lens company design a variety of lenses to let consumer and pro choose the right lens for the job. That is why some people buy all sort of same focal length lenses (not at the same time)and use depending on the situation. My advise is if Rokkor 58 f1.2 is your cup of tea, supplement it with a cheap 1.4 lens for those occasion that u need a little sharper on the subject. Sharp is relative btw. If the way Rokkor renders makes u happy and u want all your pictures this way, then that will be the perfect lens for u. I am not belittling the Rokkor. I loved that lens. Its one of those that felt perfect in my hand but I like to caution elevating it to 'godly' status. Then there is the sensor/lens factor. My experience, and strictly my experience, seems to point out that certain lenses worked better for certain camera than others so the above belief may be flawed as I do not own the A7 or the A7R. I have however quite a bit of experience on BOTH the 7 and the 7R cos a few fnds have it. I have lend quite a few lenses to them to shoot and learn from their experience. Still for a desert lens, the Rokkor 58 mm f1.2 will prob be the lens but it is a hard choice between this and the Leica DR. So please take the time to try out the lens this weekend (I wont be around) and tell me how u feel. Do not go with any preconceive idea and enjoy the image and comparison and the comraderie. Just sharing some thoughts on this subject.
Cheerios to this wonderful community. Bro Thoth, I stand by every recommendation I made to friends and the Rokkor is indeed a jewel but u dont wear your Patek Philip to swim right?
Bro Thoth
Great shots!! Now if u dont compare, just looking at the Rokkor or Pentax, are u happy with their rendering? Do u really have to have one over the other?
Just a question. If u do a blind test, do u prefer one over the other?
Let's take a few photos using OTHER background (AND DIFF TIMING OF THE DAY) and do a blind test/survey and see what the is the preference of the bros here. Should be interesting. Just remember this is NOT about which is better but which tool is suitable for what job. And to be more scientific, use a tripod hehe.
Waiting anxiously.
Also its not about shooting close distances. Do some infinity shot at f1.2 and other distance in between to get my point. This Saturday session will be super poisonous and hope everyone has the chance to try :}
