Install the app "EOS Remote" on your smartphone to view & transfer selected photos over to upload to FB. The app can also be used to release the camera's shutter remotely.

hmmm..... me also unloading my M43 system back to FF...... looking at 6D and also a smaller body as backup/outing, so also considering the 100D..... good choice??? :dunno: Also consider Nikon D600... but dont have a smaller Nikon body to pair it...

70D bro. 😄

Hi friends, After much temptation and research I've give up on my micro 4/3. Love that EP-3, it had served me well with good pics.. However it kept me frustrated with is low light capabilities. As I decided not to spent much on that camera, I've bought the 6D (body only) from DD Electronis at $2070 (gray set). I also bought a 3rd party battrey for $40 (I think) opp peninsula, the shop near the POSB entrance (forget the shop name). So far I've used it for events and loved it. Can I have some inputs from you guys.. Which lense is best for this FF camera.. If rent and tried the 24-70 f2.8 I and the 16-35 f.2.8. I like the 16-35 but still confused which one to buy. Need help guys.. Also base on ur experience can you guys highlight to me what are ur fav lense for events.. Thanks..

Any of the 24-70 canons are good. Of course the 2.8 ii is the best out of the 3. You can do that macro thing which blows up your image to a whopping 0.7x magnification on the f4 version. And the IS of the f4 version is fantastic because of the new and improved hybrid IS.

I just realized that the 6D has 2 options of kit lens, the 24-105/f4 and 24-70/f4. Is there something special about the 24-70 f4 that makes it much more expensive than the 24-105/f4? Both have same maximum aperture but the 24-105 has obviously more range while still maintaining f4. Initially I thought it was 24-70 f2.8 so I didn't think anything of it (the price differential) until now when I realized both are constant f4. So what gives?

The f4 has 2 UD elements in it compared to the 24-105 which only has 1.

The implication here is that the light that goes in the lens does not go crazy and split up into their 3 components of green red and blue before hitting the full frame sensor. The UD elements have what Canon marketing likes to call LOW DISPERSION (which follows the explanation above) and its because of this low dispersion that helps create sharper images that do not fall prey to chromatic aberrations (colour fringing around contrasty edges).

And furthermore the 24-70 f4 is newer and with a more advanced hybrid IS system. it compensates for rotation and plane vibrations at the same time. The 24-105 has a slightly older IS system that only compensates for one form of vibration.

The 24-70 has a macro mode that allows for somewhat not-that-bad macro photography with magnifications of 0.7x. In exif datas of images taken under this mode you would see the focal length being 80mm. Glass has to move. Cost more to do that. Get the picture now bro?

hi 6d owners! why are we so silent? i have a question.... anybody here went into 24-70 f4 route? may i know if its good for lanscape and toy shots? i am planning to get that kit 2 nxt week.

Lesser distortion than the 24-105, 24-70 2.8 and the 24-70 2.8 ii. Based on architectural experiments and distortion chart readings.

And the macro is awesome at the 70mm. Even though when you click that macro mode button it becomes 80mm. (Based on my exif datas)

So its good for your landscapes and toys.

I use the eos app. Like what Gizmo said, u have to set the camera to bulb mode. And like using bulb on the camera itself u will have to press the shutter button on ur hp screen without letting go. Once u let go the shuyter will close. it will be better if the app allow us to press once to open shutter and press again to close it. but I guess it is still much easier to hold the button on ur hp than on ur camera.

Hold the button on the camera confirm blur one lol....but yea they should do the double press thing like you said
