Thanks! I went and bought it from Alan photo already. it's black and don't look nice as my tripod is shining blue but it's OK after all as long can reuse my tripod will do.
Anyone knows where I can buy screen protector for the display that show shutter speed and etc? Don't feel good leaving it expose
You can probably try getting LARMOR from TK. It's a glass screen protector. It comes in a set (main display and top display). But after using it for some months, it's position will start shifting when you apply pressure from the sides. (when first applied, it won't even budge). But I'm fine with it so far.

Anyone update to the new firmware?
Any big differences? Hehe
Thanks skystrike, but I bought a piece for main Display from Cathay already, I guess they don't sell just for the top right? Mind advice the cost?
It costs $20. And I doubt you can buy separate...
wondering if there's anything that one should know about 6D.
in terms of its dynamic range, the ability to retain highlight and shadow details?
or are there more things that I should be worried about?
does having Shallow Depth of Field be a bad idea when using 6D then? especially in an environment which is badly lit? since only the centre focus point is a cross-type.It's a great camera. I struggled with the decision of getting a 6d against a 5d3. But no regrets.
Things that you might wanna take note of-
It doesn't have a back up card slot like the 5d3
It has much less focus points. And only one cross type focus point. But that centre cross focus point is very very good.
Image quality wise, dynamic range is as good as any other full frame canon.

what about the jpeg compression? straight out of camera jpeg quality?
anything else that one should be aware of?
The DOF is just like the DOF of any full frame. In my opinion, it's better to have the option of having a shallow DOF and then narrowing it when necessary. The reverse won't be really that easy. So it's still advantageous to have the 6D and any other full frame for that matter. Yeah I understand your concern about focus/recomposing when using the 6d in occasions when the dof is thin. I've never used the 5d3 before, but I read that the 6d's low light performance is much better. And yet it's the 5d3 that has the luxury of many many focus points 41 cross focus points. This will reduce the need to focus/recompose. I guess you will have to try both to decide if you prefer a superior centre focus point that performs very well in low light or a system with an abundance of cross focus points. Also, straight out of camera jpgs are of very good quality. Even in Faithful (all settings at0) I get very nice jpgs. During post processing I usually increase the saturation and contest a little that's all.
Yeah! Finally got myself one!
