OFFICIAL: CANON EOS 6D - User Thread - Part 3

I think you may have misaligned the battery when inserting the battery to the charger. Had this before, took out, put it back correctly and it charged.

If you try it and still can't charge, time to bring to service centre (or shop to check first?).

Thanks, it looks i re-insert it and it charges normally now. :)

I go no problem tethering to ipad and phone. Got 2 sets to tether for both items. Works great. Sad to say that ipad do not have the hd version for it. Need to have a X2 for it. But u still can see how sharp the image is. Great camera for starting full frame!

hi 6d owners! why are we so silent?

i have a question....

anybody here went into 24-70 f4 route?

may i know if its good for lanscape and toy shots?

i am planning to get that kit 2 nxt week.

That lens is good enough for most landscape shots unless you need to cover a wider angle. Toys wise I'm not too sure, but no problem for me as and when I need close focusing with its macro mode at 70mm.

Silence is good. There are no technical issues.

I prefer 24-105 + another lens kit.

But I'm using 16-35 anyway.

I think that's a good choice. If you are looking at all the different 24-70, then the Canon's 24-70 f4 definitely has the best macro option which is very useful for toy photography. For landscape, 24mm will be wide enough most of the time.

Btw, i don't have the 24-70 f4 but i do have the Tamron version. I use to do toy photography too, so was considering the f4 for its macro capabilities but decide to go for a f2.8 lens because i shoot regularly in a museum. hence low light and no flash allowed.

alright! thanks

well according to my research 24-70 f4 has low distortion and considerably sharp all across the corner. which is the one i liked coz i mainly shoot landscape.

as my name implies i used to be a nikon shooter for 3 years. now i am jumping to canon. i already sold my equipment.

Never use 24 70 F4 before. You can consider 24 105 kit with a 2nd hand 100mm L if you don't mind the weight and slightly higher cost.
For me, I decided to take the Tamron 24 70 2.8 VC.

Cannot register HDR or Multiple exposure to C1/C2. Doubt why Canon chose not to implement it

Hi everyone. I migrated from Nikon D90 to 6D yesterday. I am impressed with it. Using a 24-70mm 2.8 II . Bought camera for $2500.

Congratulations. Just curious... what motivated you to get the Canon 6D rather than the Nikon D600?

What is the lower price for 24-70 F2.8L ll in Sg? Just bought it at Cathay $2599 two days ago.

Hi,
Just joined the club about 2 months back, but just found time to fully dispose of the Nikon System..

Enjoying the 6D with the 24-70 Mk2 , will probably hold on to the 24-70 until the rumored 16-35 replacement hits the shelves :p

Welcome to the club. Just curious what made you switch? I have not used Nikon before but I hear they have better wide angle zooms compared to Canon, if the UWA is what you are after...

At the moment I think the UWAs are all on par, with the 16mk2 better than the Nikkor 16-35 f/2.8
The 14-24 is nice however the non filter makes it a tough choice for an all rounder.

Why canon - well hopefully... the 24 T/S and its respective refresh of the 16-35mk2 and 45 T/S

Think the rumored 14-24 should make ship jumpers even more enticing....:)

Perhaps a 16-35 F/2.8 - that is one area rather lacking in the nikkor arsenal at the moment...
The 14-24 of the Canon shd be roughly based on the same design as the nikkor - A pretty handle with Care lens....
