anyone's 60d's rubber starting to peel already ~w~U||| ?

Got mine on 31-Oct-10. No peeling rubber.

Perhaps the rubber on your camera has been exposed to a lot of sweat, salt water or other chemicals?

Just got my 60d from TK as well.. with the 17-55.. but i beginner.. so couple of qns to ask brothers and sisters here..
- Is the Canon free bag good enough or shld i invest in stuff like Lowepro?
- How many shots would I get from a fully charged batt if I shoot with AEB?
Thanks in advanced! =)

I have heard that setting your dry cabinet too dry may accelerate the rubber deterioration. The ideal setting is about 45% RH. Any lower than 30% and things start drying out. Not to say this is the cause, but it's a possibility you can rule out by turning a dial in your dry cab. ;)

I bought my 60D in early Nov 2010, it is still holding up well after being through hot-and-dry Middle East and freezing Europe.

hi all,

i got my 60D sometime back last year. hoping to learn more over here.

Guys, for self taken shoots, can 60D's LCD able to turn and face me and one more person beside me? It will be fun to take some buddy shots knowing that we are in the frame.
And some say, 60D is good for taking movies/videos, anyone can share some pointers? ^^

I am very eager to get the kit with 18-200mm. Any good shops to recommand? =D

Same here. But after spending a few days reading up on reviews of the 18-200mm lens, seems like many people are complaining about vigetting and lack of image sharpness (which I think is normal for lens of such wide range). Is it really that bad as mentioned?

My friend got quoted $2099 at one shop in Tampines One for the 60D with 18-200mm kit lens and IT Show freebies (dry box, crumpler bag etc.). I believe it might not be the cheapest though.

Any other better offers?

Honestly , the Canon bag looks good. It's one of the best designs I've seen. Its good enough if u just have body and your kit lens. However if you have upgrades in future such as a battery grip and additional lens, it'll be a little squeeze. Try looking out and Cathay photo for good cam bags such as lowepro like u said. I'm waiting for great Singapore sale. I remb last yr they have a gd deal on these bags during GSS. :)

Shots wise I wld say est 600 w/o flash.

I just bought the 60D w/ Kit II from TK Foto as well! Rather new to DSLR so hope to learn from here! =D

For the online warranty promo, do we just register and head down to Harbour Front Service Centre to redeem? What do we have to bring along?

Btw, took a few test shots with the camera, noticed that the camera auto-focuses really slow when I'm trying the live view mode. Is this normal?

Thanks!

yes, register online before coming down there, you'll need to provide the receipt and warranty card.

there are 3 AF modes in live view, the default focus mode is a bit slow, switch to quick AF mode for faster focusing.

Thanks for the info. Yea I did try the 3 different af mode. Seems pretty weird IMO.. I guess I'd stick to the viewfinder unless I need to take shots from weird angles haha..

Does anyone know where to purchase a 60D user guide? I'm not sure if Canon showroom has it.
