Hi Nightpiper,

Just wanna ask if the IQ is considerably, as in noticeably better than the 40D? Even in lowlight high iso shots?

Sorry u ask wrong guy liao. I'm not into low noise measurement, noise is only a very small part in the IQ equation. Look at MF u get the idea. Or more commonly the 5D series vs the 1 series. The 1 series has better overall IQ but higher noise than the 5D/2. What does that tell u?

Overall i find 60D better. There's less false colour compared to 40D, easier for me to tune the colours. On the whole the pics look more pleasing. Metering also noticeably better. Hi ISO usable, like i said, i hardly go past 1250 so anything at 1600 or lower is very solid

Now... We are starting to get some positive comments from real users of the 60d

when it was announced, we can only speculate from the specs. I personally held the 60d in my hands. To those who gave negative comments about the plastic body, I can assure that it does not feel like the xxxD bodies at all

By the way, I was chatting with the Paris Silk guys and realized that there is no third party wireless shutter release yet?

Can anyone confirm this?

I have a Canon RC-5 and it works with the 60D but only with a 2-sec delay. Even when I set the camera to no delay remote shutter, the RC-5 still triggers a 2 sec delay. There are plenty of 3rd party remote that should work this way (seen them on eBay), but I am keen to have a no delay remote so I called Canon to inquire. According to them, the new remote RC-6 (mentioned in the manual) is not available here yet, but the older RC-1 is also compatible for both immediate shutter and 2-sec shutter. So there should be compatible ones for RC-1 as it has been around for quite a while already.

I cannot help but to think that even with remote controls, Canon also applies the dumbing-down pricing strategy to make more $$$ from its customers.

canon camera bodies bought in malaysia with warranty not covered in singapore. you can send it to the authorized centers in JB which will in turn send it to the main service centre in KL
