Good stuff lady bird! Welcome to the club. I don't think you will regret it. Be sure to attend the free training from Canon. That'll help you speed up in learning :)

ya you won't regret it. this is the best entry level dslr in the market right now.

One of the mass seller is selling Targus CPL + UV pretty cheaply. GO to the mass sale and search it out. The CPL + UV is a bundle package is does not cost more than $40. (less than $30-ish iirc)

hey thanks for the heads up soons!
how is this targus brand? is it reliable? and is it single/multicoated?
i'll go check it out.. thanks :)

Next time my battery brand will be 8888mAh!!! :bsmilie:

Those 3rd party batteries are just over-rating the battery. What makes u think their cell technology can surpass those veterans from sanyo, hitachi, sony etc?

Yes it's already out. Dd electronics sells it for $256 but Auden09 says others sell it for ~$200. (thanks Auden btw, I migt have to wait for the prices to drop.)

Here's an interesting video on improving performance by using hi speed cards on the 550d.

basically, I don't think your class 2 would suffice. Better invest on at least class 4s

thanks...
$256 seems a bit high to me...
200-230... seems reasonable to me...
anyway... will have to go to those shop personally to ask for the best price lar...
thanks again...

anything more than 200 isn't reasonable for a xxxD grip!!

Wait for 3rd party loh, those 3rd grip will not price more than $120.

Imagine this:
You have all equipments with you (camera + lenses + flash + tripod + etc...) for the photoshoot outing/assigment... you happily shoot shoot shoot until...

Your camera stop working because the battery flat!
Now all your equipments cannot be used anymore! and you have to go back home to charge the battery... sad huh?

That's why having a spare battery is REALLY important.

For the 3rd party battery, last night I checked the brand is divipower, same like someone mentioned in few post earlier.

I should get it at CP instead of MS... haha $7 diff can get me a good meal!

Haha, i think really depends on the person, whether he will shoot more than few hundred pics each day. I just came back from 7 day holiday. Shoot 4-500 pics without charging the battery at all. (not my 7D, my wife's 550D) and also depends on whether taking videos, long exposure etc, both of which I didnt do.
