Hi all! Great to be back!

Anyways, have you guys found a 550D dedicated LCD protector? As you guys know the LCD screen is slightly wider than the 500D.

Still sourcing....

Got the 3rd party batt last week... (the original batt too expensive haha)... $35 from MS.

Wha... most mass sales section, the batteries isn't more than $30.
Can I have a picture, voltage rating and mAh rating?? I might want to get a spare batt too... original batt price is... >__<

i bought my lcd protector from the same seller as alux. not bad for its price la. size is good enough for me. but i screwed up when applying it so now got a few strands of dust underneath the protector. too lazy to get another one though. so i'm just gonna leave it.

considering whether to get a polarising filter for the 50mm f/1.8. preferably hoya. where to get it cheap?

I am still waiting for GGS to come out a Screen Protector specially for 550D.

New 3:2 screen is very good, but finding fitting Screen Protector is a pain.

Kind of like finding a man's A-cup bra. :bsmilie::bsmilie:

BTW, made a video by using Canon S5 IS and Canon 550D... you can see the white balance between the 2 cams is off. Some scene uses the movie crop function.

ISO12800 not usable anyway, ISO6400 is good enough for me at extreme conditions.

I need a spare batt for last weekend shoot... so no choice.
If I am not wrong, the capacity is bigger (2800mA)... the rest need to check tonight.
It has 1 year warranty.

In the end, I did not use the spare batt because the original batt still can 'tahan' after 840pics (a whole day shot from morning until night)... very good battery :thumbsup:

Original battery s 1120mAh and 3rd party rate them as 2800mAh? Assumin' if the 3rd party battery rates voltage at 7.4V, then 2800mAh x 7.4V = more than 20Wh... power!!!:bsmilie:

Figured out I might screw up the application process, so ended up buying 10pcs on ebay
Right enough, I fumbled the 1st one but the 2nd sits perfectly.
That leaves me with 8 pcs spare, so if anyone is in need of one you can PM me and I'm sure we can figure someting out for a token sum...

If u are refering to web, that's fine. I am refering to prints. 4R at least.
It depends on your exposure also.

Yup, focusing in the center is now sensitive to lens f/2.8 or faster.
Tried using lens 50 1.4, the focus is accurate...


I also really like the AUTO ISO... quite surprise the camera can adjust the iso by 1/3 stop (i.e. iso 320).
When mounted 50mm, (Av Mode) the speed is maintained at about 1/60 sec.

i shot 550d with 50 1.4, the results are fantastic, loving it.

I usually goes to the Handphone accessories shop at IMM to custom cut screen protector.

So far I have done for my Handphone, compact camera, walkie talkie, gas meter...(just to name a few)

best part of it all, it takes away the headache of applying the screen protector on your own.

maybe you can get your screen protector for your Canon 550D done there.
