HELP!!!

anyone bought anything from manly departmental store ( chinatown ) before? got the contact from ebay
want to get the 550d + 50mm/1.4 usm from them but is wondering how trusty are they

They are quite trusty. Should be no problem at Manly..but be careful not to go to the wrong Manly, as in their other branch (also at chinatown and within walking distance!). Most importantly, look for the correct person...I think is Mr. Quek, if I dun remember wrongly..

hey peeps, was searching for the bg-e8 today. ms, slr, cp and op all dun haf stock...sadly. then i went to john316..was quoted $205. high price...i believe its $20 higher than wad it wld be in months' time. but bought it anyway. i have to say the grip is good. solid. very unlike the bge2n which i had. boy am i glad.

BTW, he told me to come back on Friday for Screen Protector.. said they are on the way.

I'm planning to get 550D on this sunday from AP. My brother went down to check out the price and that was what AP quoted. Anyway, do u happen to know what's AP's price for kit II? or does AP have other packages?

I bought this Sido battery on ebay. Works as good as the original, but may explode and trigger the 3rd world way ;-)

Yeah... camera body is just the beginning... later on you'll need some other things (lenses, accessories, etc...).

I just got sigma 30 f/1.4 last week... haha.. cannot resist BBB virus!

huh... Manly quoted me 550d kit 1 + 50m/1.4 len by cash only for $1661 gst included..
that's a lot saving compare to others but not much of freebies
do you all think should i wait n check out the suntec electronic fair or just get it right now..

i'm only a beginner & tend to take a lot of pic of toddler , dogs & miniature mostly indoor
so anyone can recommend me extra flash light?

Didn't really like 50mm F1.4 much after trying out. F1.4 means very shallow depth of field. Bad focusing technique or too thin DOF will result in mis-focus, like noise & ears blur but eyes and cheeks in focus etc.

50mm x 1.6 will still be tight indoors, unless u wanna do headshot.

hi! just wanna ask if somebody already tried copying DPP from one computer to another and how did you do it? I copied the eos utility from the program files and it worked just fine. I did the same for DPP but it didnt work.

U will find kit lens IS useful.
If u want more obvious background blur, need to make sure ur hands are steady with lenses without IS.

If you're not very serious about taking photog up seriously, then for now Kit I should be alright for you now. But if you already know what kinda shots you like and what you're gonna take, then u can consider other lens.

it's not that i'm not taking it seriously but it also depends on what i have in the pocket:dunno:
i'm just trying to get the suitable equipment under 2k & i love the f1.4 result.

haha bought mine also today at AP. Supposed to be $215 but i said the other store is selling it at $205. So he gave me it for $205, then I also bought canon LP E8 for $80. another expensive day for me; but i think i got the original battery cheap
