Maybe you wanna try Phottix? Some mass sellers here sells them. :) Used those phottix BG for my 450D & 50D before. Quality is top notch!

My birthday is in March too! Canon Rumours is the source for most of this stuff.... and it might be true. But many think that the Canon 1Ds MkIV will come out before the 5D MkIII because it's way overdue.

Here is the Canon Rumours website where mention of the impending 5D MkIII is made:

I hope that the 5D MkIII rumour is true and that it is launched sooner than later!

Birthday in March got discount? Hahaha... mine in March too.... think it's going to be 4K+

When I was buying one myself, I tried and tested almost all 3rd party grips available locally except the Phottix. Most are crap, some even came with 2 free batteries (grip + 2 batts @ $160!!!), build quality is really low. And they don't feel solid when attached to the body. Since I almost always use a BlackRapid sling which is attached to the grip, it is very important the the grip is solid. In short I bought the orig one. really worth it imho. take a look at this, maybe this will change your mind, 3rd party ones are plastic :)

awww anyway i got the 3rd party today. After shooting for the whole morning, i feel the weight is different from my 550D. So i thought i will go with the 'lighter plastic' grip for the bigger feeling. The switch to fullframe is quite different, i cant do closeup on what i used to do on a crop body. :p

So it means.... more lens to come to cover the lost distance... spend $$ again...

Just buy what you can afford and needs.

so also to sum up my earlier post and to give a moral to the story... If all you need from you camera is a good ISO capability then the MK II is more than enough.. it surpasses it.. no need to be waiting around listening to rumours about the MK III...

My 5D mark II has now a total of 280k, going to reach 300k.
And still clicking like a hell!
