I hate it when pple say Minolta sux when they never even touch the equipment before..
but I must admit Minolta cameras have ppor focusing ability..compared to others..

still there is no need to comapre until like tt...
;(
ppor focusing ability

Most shoot between f/2.0-f/4.0
20060709 Cosfest V group shots and etc (image intensive)
A few did get out of focus, but mainly due to user error :embrass:.

But indeed the AF tracking speed can't compare to 1 series in action shots.

it alrite la we dun shoot sport anyway....but that doesn't mean our can't make it..can be done but not as easy as the 1 series users

just met with tamkm a few minutes ago. wondering if i buy things too fast. first, i bought my sigma 18-50 on the day i sent my 7d for repairs. now, bought the 70-200 on the day the 7D was repaired. was slightly hesistant as my first aim was the bigma to do bird photography, but i figured that i will still need a lens of this range and speed.

so......my list of items left would be something like that:

vertical grip
dry cabinet
camera bag
50mm 1.4?

hmm... so the xxx is you.

Lets start BBB more  .

As long as it's good lens and you are make use of it, why bother :dunno:

Hehe... i wanna BBB the 400 /5.6 APO. But no $ at the moment =P
QX

right now, someone willing to sell me the VC, but dunno if the price abit high. rememebered one VC going for 130 last month in B&S. this guy selling for me about twice the price. so still pondering as that amount saved can buy me a filter for my sigma

and any recommendations for the dry cabinet and camera bag? looked at digicabi, confused by the number of selections available.

for the camera bag, lowepro 400 SR? that one can fit my 70-200, but if i not taking my 70-200, this bag is much of an overkill.

hey, good to see that you've got yourself set up after all the agonising and WTBs ;) yes, the camera bag and the dry cabinet are a good idea.

just a suggestion, you've got a pair of very nice 2.8 zooms (i don't have a single one!), that cover a good working range. why don't you relax for a little and just shoot with those first? you can eventually get the 50mm and maybe even a TC for birding, but in the meantime, why don't you get to know your equipment first?

i went through a BBB phase too, and it's really not a good thing, cos i just ended up with a bunch of glass that i wasn't familiar with. master the great glass you already have, and reward yourself later with new tools. hope to see some pictures from you soon.

satay16,

Just dun forget to lend me your gears when I need them.. :D hehe..:bsmilie:

Now aday student rich mah  , unlike my time

Actually like Pai said, should learn to make use of the lens you have then progress to the next. When you actually feel the need (lower end lenses limiting you) then buy.

actually my line up not really great also mah. only got three lenses.

minolta 28 f2
sigma 18-50 f2.8
sigma 70-200 f2.8

see? compare to those lists that fills up one whole screen:bsmilie:

btw, for those pp who roughly know my whole lineup, which dry cabinet is more sutible for me?

erm... these are very good lenses, and a very complete range. i honestly don't think anyone will really outgrow these quickly. why u wanna compare with those ppl who have a whole screen of lenses?
