sigh this is getting boring. the effect on canon? more RnD into the next camera to challenge Nikon again. the first victim this time is the 40D, just look at the pricing from beginning to now. then when the next gen of canon cams come out, nikon does more RnD. So more new cams for techgeeks and forum trolls to fight over.

maybe all the nikons were on one end of the field and all the canons on the other.
cannot be la...they r not like locals who r so free to have differential between Canon and Nikon users groups...btw I do saw one Nikon user inside the pic...

wow bro r u sure Canon is challenge with Nikon meh, I thought is the other way round...Canon have full frame sensor since 2002 while nikon have yet launch it full frame right...btw what happen to 40D pricing?

This thread can go on and on,Canon vs Nikon blah blah
but i know im happy with my 30D right now
and enjoying taking pictures with it:sticktong

I remember seeing somewhere tt D3 sensor is Nikon-based made+design, but not the same for D300. Also D300 sensor i heard is kinda derived from the D3 sensor.

Anyway, the John Tan's image, who's cams are those on the floor ones? ... if its one person/group, really covering all angles :sweat::sweat: hahas

but still lose out to the broadcasting cameras, 25fps zoom in and out, wide aperture! hahaa :sticktong
Maybe those cams at the bottom r from many news reporters all around the world in big sport event trying to have different view at the same time...

How do u know?

Well, our holier-than-thou Kit is as usual here to share some of his infinite wisdom with the misguided & disgruntled Canon users. :bsmilie:

Did you know this picture was taken with a Nikon?

Ah, interesting!

Assuming that picture was taken by a Nikon.

Hmm.. what conclusions can one make?

Perhaps, that was what the Nikon was capable of?

While the pros photographed the real thing with Canon, the whatyoucallit photographed the pros with the Nikon?

i sense great disturbance, who cares what brand of camera is better

only the image matters

what works for you works for you.

photography is a personal experience, and its your experience with the equipment you choose that matters.

if shooting with a flagship camera from either brand makes you feel good, provide you with the sense of achievement and self-actualization needed, or rather gets you the picture you want, then there is no point wasting time comparing and defending brands.

seriously i'm not too sure this topic from the start.. how relevant it is for proper intellectual discussion than ending up as a brand comparison thingey?

coz nikon dont see the point for FF yet mah. cost effectiveness not that yet for effective productivity. so now with the D3 and D300 whose specs just simply walloped the 40D and gives Canon a reason to fear. Canon have to come up with a new camera to challenge back rite? so the whole cycle will just keep on going.

as for the 40D, prices have been dropping since it came out at the Comex show.

How do u know?

You mean you can't tell?????

With all the feature counting, camera eye balling, marketing strategy scrutinising...... nobody in the crowd can tell if it was shot with a Nikon or Canon??? Come on.... you got to be kidding.....

A 35mm DSLR in a (modified) Nikon body came out before Canon. The model? See it yourself.
