My first camera was a pentax P30 programme A and manual focus sometime in 1985.. Like JK, could not affort a better camera and funds was low and that was all I could afford...Back then reigning brand was Nikon FM and shortly after FM2 came out and I was just playing with it, drooling over the camera. Nikon has got the F3 and later f4 and F801, those who own that knew that was reigning then. Canon was equally popular but between them, I think Nikon has the edge. Minolta has several bodies too and later X700 was popular if I could remember.
I gotten SFX with kit lens autofocus pentax sometime 1990 and later got another MZ 7 which I possess it now.So P30 and MZ7 are with me.
My first digital was K10d follow by KX and K5. I have never tot of changing brand even when Hoya was trying to dispose off the camera division. Maybe I have too many lenses to sell and lose when migrating to canon or Nikon.CAnon and Nikon are still the leading Dslr in the market place.
Back in 1986, I only learnt of TTL ie thru the lens focusing. a few variables in relation to light on how images are captured. Aperture of lens, shutter speed, iso, film speed interact with on another in relation of exposure and resulting the final image. ofcourse, I learnt about composition and bokeh too.
So for pentax, My need can easily be met, in M mode, most of my macro are in that mode. For other features, I need to call the younger pentaxian to find out the how and what and why??:bsmilie:
This is my story..
