thanks. and before there is too much jumping to conclusions (esp the panasonic dude), I should have mentioned that I didn't buy it in Singapore (thanks to the distributors).

of course there are no 'free' gifts, but hey, I have a ton of cards and my own bags already. I also got the evf for a great price.

it pays to research and hunt for the best deals. and sgd540 is the delivered price mind you (for me, but may not be true for you). AND the price is still dropping, it dropped about SGD4 since I bought it. Google is your best friend.

Was it because of Black Friday? thats a really great deal!

I'm absolutely new to photography, and i just wanted to thank everyone in this thread, cos I was relying alot on the information here when I was deciding on which camera and where to buy.

hey just to check, if i get a white one, and the accessories like extra flash and wide angle lens are all black i supposed, isnt it wierd combi?

anyone any info abt this?

THANKS!

Hi I am new here and am thinking of getting the lx5 would like to wait a while more (still considering) before buying. I have read countless reviews and I think it would be a good choice for me as long as night shots are good and the photo quality is great.

After reading through this thread, the best place to get it is at Tk Photo Funan I suppose? $680 with free 8gb sdhc card + leather case + screen protector?

Btw, may I inquire when does the panasonic promotion ends? Thanks in advance! :)

If I am not wrong, it ends on 30 Nov but the redemption till 30 Dec 2010.

I went down to TK Photo as soon as I found out about the promotion last Fri. Ark served me well and I not only bought the LX5 but also Kenko UV filter. I also bought a 52mm adapter and JJ auto-cap from fellow bro in this forum. The fun begins!

The LX5 is fun to use and easy to shoot good looking pictures. Since I didn't previously owned a LX3, there is less transitional problems (habit actually) in maneuvering through the menu settings. Great camera to supplement my Nikon DSLR.

Hi , u can't hook up the kenko uv filter straight onto the camera right? u nneed the 52mm adapter first? How much is the uv filter?

I got the adapter from bro wormz777 (see Mass Sales). Kenko 52mm Digital Pro 1 UV filter costs $27. I was told Kenko and Hoya brands originate from the same factory in Japan.

I bought the lx 5 at $680 from tk foto today. Thank you this thread for recommending tk foto.

Anyway, this is the first time I ever use an advanced digicam and I am very new. I will be going to vietnam for a holiday soon and would be glad to have some advice on how to take better night shots. Thanks in advance!

Hi Toejam, you bought from Amazon's used but like new offers ? Do they ship direct or do you need to use intermediate shipper like VPOST ?
