Just got a white LX5 for my wife on Saturday from MS Color.

Must say I am impressed by their promptness in replying to my emails (kudos to Florence!) and also their service (served by a nice chap!). Got my free gifts from Panasonic this morning too and again was very fast! The free case is of a very nice build quality but too bad it only comes in black color. Pairing the white LX5 with the brown leather one will be very cool!

Of course the LX5 is a great camera! Love the way it handles all the shots and the colors! On the whole a :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: camera! My wife is loving it!

Haven't got the case though. Not sure if my wife want to buy the new case or not as the one given by Panasonic is honestly very well built and solid albeit the color does not match very well. I am fine with it but not sure if she like it though since it's her camera now. Paid $679 for it liao the case she buy herself. Haha...

Will have to wait for her to go out and take some photos though. Will post here again.

Hi there! Paid $679 cash for that. However I don't think they have the white one already. Mine was the second last set they have and the last set was purchased by a NS dude with his girlfriend. You can email them to ask and get a quote at the same time. DO get a quote as their walk in price is different I think. They are quite fast in replying so no worries. All the best!

Anywayz with reference to toejam on page 33 about getting his/her LX5 white, more than 2 weeks ago.

For people who are wondering, this is not a local set, which you can purchase online from trusted overseas vendors in Amazon or B&H or your preferred online shop.

I think Amazon selling used (like new) from US$366 around SG$480 and the new one is like US$399 or SG$521 ... the price was much better 2 weeks ago based on exchange rate. SG dollar to US dollar was like 1.28 average at that time .. now about 1.31. Appx 2% diff.

Anywayz with that said, if you have a fren living in said country, you can ask him or her to send to you via USPS around SG$30ish give or take depending on what class of mail ... or send VIA Vpost. Also not to forget 7% GST ... if declared as a gift have no commercial value so no need pay 7% GST or if you suay then u need to pay.

Therefore as of today if depending on situation, you can get a bare box set from as low as SGD510 to SGD551 up to your doorsteps in SG. Of course that said, depend on Used (Like new) or new and if suay you need to add the 7% GST

As for warranty (even if international) not sure if Panny SG will accept.

thanks. and before there is too much jumping to conclusions (esp the panasonic dude), I should have mentioned that I didn't buy it in Singapore (thanks to the distributors).

of course there are no 'free' gifts, but hey, I have a ton of cards and my own bags already. I also got the evf for a great price.

it pays to research and hunt for the best deals. and sgd540 is the delivered price mind you (for me, but may not be true for you). AND the price is still dropping, it dropped about SGD4 since I bought it. Google is your best friend.

Assumption is deadly.

Panasonic have introduced Japanese only models for their domestic market ... usually the prices are VERY good.

The international models have heftier prices and are not much cheaper than SG or in fact more expensive.

Akihabara is a good place to bargain for models with english menus.

Or if Japanese is not a problem for you (you can always get the english manual and learn from it) you can buy it cheaper at e-Trend outlet (google for e-Trend Japan)

I suggest using google chrome to view, as it has auto translate.

I for one can operate lumix models as an average user, and it sure looks cool to on lookers seeing you operate a Japanese menued camera xD (personal opinion )

Basically you only need to worry about Sony and Panasonic Models for language menus.

As for other brands, they are mostly English able.

But to be safe and sure, ensure on the spot that it has said menu option before finalising.
