Check your monitor calibration instead.

I used to think that the lx3's screen was too bright and increased my exposure. Ended up my first 3 months' photos were all over-exposed.

Hi Guys,

Been surfing around the LX3 threads and note that some users are complaining about the dull colours of the LX3. I'm experiencing the same thing and i'm wondering whether there are ways to compensate.

My main problem is that the colours always look great on screen but when i transfer them to the comp they're not vibrant enough i feel.

Thus far i've tried to shoot in dynamic and vivid modes for portraits - but even then the colours that I yield are still kind of dull and not rich enough. i've also tweaked the EV and the LCD screen (to show the dimmest setting) but still not yielding the results i'm hoping.

Anything else I can do other than edit for saturation in via photoshop?

Why don't you post some picture here.

Colours can be affected by:

1. The colour temperature of the light e.g. morning, afternoon, evening, cloudy or sunny day

2. The angle the light hit subject

3. Exposure e.g. over or under exposure

Hi guys, anyone know how to set the flash to 2nd sync only? Because when i change it to 2nd sync, there will be two flashes, so isit possible to set it so that it only flashes just before the curtain close???

can go sim lim square to hunt for one but i suppose is like my fz5 cable, not the common usb cable that creative mp3 players use.

i have a problem. prev, the dpi for the images i took were either 300 or 180 now it has dropped to 72 and it's making me really stressed.

is there anyway to rectify the prob? i tried changing to another SD card and still have the same prob.

Just got the LX3 been using the Auto mode mostly. Pardon me but I really wanted to know the manual functions. Is there any specfic mode that I should start with and how can I learn?

try P mode first for starters and set auto-iso to cap at either 400/800 maximum.
next up would be the A mode where you can adjust the aperture and let the cam AI decide the shutter speed itself.

Just got my camera and I find something really strange. When I adjust the exposure compensation, it shows on the LCD screen, but when the actual pics are taken, there does not seem to be a difference? Must have been me setting something wrongly?

Exposure: 0.125 sec (1/8)
Aperture: f/2.0
Focal Length: 5.1 mm
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Bias: 0 EV

Exposure: 0.125 sec (1/8)
Aperture: f/2.0
Focal Length: 5.1 mm
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Bias: +2 EV

nvm, i know liao, you have to adjust the lowest shutter speed to 1.

i deleted part of the pictures from the SD card in the camera, i realise that when i put the card back into the camera, some of the pictures that i have not deleted appears as totally black..

how can i solve this problem?

can i shoot at more than F8.0, if so how?

Can anyone recommend a workshop I can attend so I may learn how to use the functions of the camera? Or is there a photography class anyone can recommend so I can fully appreciate my new camera?

i already loaded the pic to the PC from the SD card(not thru cable). Hence i deleted those I didnt want from the PC and put the card back to the camera..thats when i realise some of the pics I kept in the SD card is not showing in the camera...

Hi, yes and I do believe I'm not the only one using this cos when I purchased my LX3 adapter:thumbsup:, it was the last piece...:sweat:as I need this in order to screw-in my B+W Filter/s Also, can use Cir-Pol. if not how...leh...:bsmilie:
