I think all the 51AF point are simply overkill... they probably just cover up all your viewfinder view...
The inactive areas will not be visible to clutter up our view. ;p

dunnoe wat this mean.
Nice innovative FX featureAllows current DSLR users to use DX lenses for smaller prints and also encourage them to buy the "normal" lenses to take full advantage of the bigger sensor ;p
Dun tink Nikon got those FF long zoom range.
sigh, want this want that.either too expensive, out of reach. what you want? might as well become surflim almighty and make your own :bsmilie:
Also I notice that the D300 can flash sync up to 1/320, but the D3 only 1/250.
There seems to be some features the D300 has that the D3 does not.
Best about Nikon, after all this years you still can use the old MF on the latest body. Now even if you still own DX lens, you will still be able to shoot with them on a FF body.
Maybe that's why their R&D always took so long.:bsmilie:
i suspect the spec. might be wrong. How could a lower grade D300 have sensor cleaning feature while the D3 dont? it really surprise me.:dunno:
not too bad.. around 8k less than 9k?
Read the spec...
Not this round...cos there is a new new Image processor in town & also the 51-point Multi-CAM 3500DX.
D2xs is faster than D200 cos D200 is using CAM1000 which is a old tech from F100. But the new D300 is arm with the latest CAM3500DX, same with the new D3. :bsmilie:

Pros know how to clean their own sensor. Do you realise how easy it is to clean the sensor of the D2X compared with D200? I think there's some special antistatic coating or something like that..
This is not a problem actually. With FP flash mode you can set shutter speed higher then the flash sync speed, all the way up to the max shutter speed that your camera can support. FP mode is already supported on D200 (flash sync 1/250s), I'm sure it will be supported on the D3 & D300.![]()
Look carefully again.. D3 is using CAM3500FX, D300 is using CAM3500DX. Even though they are both 3500 pixels, the area they cover are different and optically they may not be the same.
can my dx lenses fit into the ff d3 without vignetting?
is the d3 available in japan now?
It will fit @ 1.5 x crop. if i'm not wrong.can my dx lenses fit into the ff d3 without vignetting?
is the d3 available in japan now?
preparing budget for year end... :devil:yes but must shoot in DX mode, can still shoot in FX mode if you want
and no only out in Nov 2007
I've to disagreed.
Based on past experience,
a D1X image raw image is still better than a D100, D70, etc.
a D2X image raw image is still better than D200 and D1X AF is still faster than D200, as such I suspect that the D2x or D2xS raw image will be still better than a D300 or at least the AF cam system and other features will still be it better than D300 except for weight.![]()
