Those two shots are taken by the same camera - Coolpix 950, without setting any CWB. They looked different because they were post-processed differently. The first was post processed to look like Kodak Ektachrome EIR professional IR slide film while the second was done normally.vortex said:is the WB setting for the one with red foilage the same as the rest??
i like the one with the statue
maybe we should all use a spirit level like dennis?? :dunno:
The Coolpix 950 has not beenmodified for IR photography. Its CCD sensor is quite sensitive to IR and could be previewed on the LCD and handheld for IR photography.vortex said:did u modify your Cp950?
the false color ones are taken with 2 different shots and layered is it?
i was reading it before...but couldn't figure out since my PS skills is limited as well
i love the red foilage as much as white
anyways i have yet to shoot IR with my d70![]()
teerex said:I don't know about you guys, but I know why I have that problem.
I shoot handheld. Had to compose picture, then put the R72 over lens with the other hand, half press shutter for focus and exposure then shoot. So I usually get my horizontals slightly off. :bsmilie:
Here's one with corrected horizontal, does it look straight ark19?

Yes. Same post-processing method.teerex said:tomcat,
Are you using the same technique as you posted earlier in this thread where you take 2 similar pictures for the post processing?
Have read about the expodisc for CWB, how's your experience with it? Quite an expensive piece of material isn't it? Have you tried using a Pringles Lid and compared it with the expodisc?
Sorry, so many questions.
tomcat said:Yes. Same post-processing method.
The Expodisk is expensive because it is manufactured to very exact standards and is more accurate than the exposure metering in any SLRs. If you don't particularly care about the WB accuracy, a Pringle (or any other locally available potato chip) lid could be used. A user in the States has once posted detailed controlled comparisons of shots taken with both the Expodisk and the Pringle lid and it could clearly be seen that there is still a colour cast if a Pringle lid is used while the colours of shots taken with the Expodisk is perfect.
Then again, many people could not tell if there is any colour cast when they examine their own photos even if their lives depended on it, so for these users and those who are not so discriminating, a Pringle lid will do just fine. :dunno:

how does this Expodisk work? :dunno:
vortex said:i only know it costs more than $200

Think I'll go down to CP to check out the Lowepro Stealth 200AW today...
Today weather very good to shoot IR ...
This filter is almost as dark as the R72 and has 50% transmittance at 715mm (compared to 50% transmittance at 720mm for R72). Can be used as a cheap alternative to large diameter R72. But must also invest in the Cokin P system to use it properly.vortex said:eh on...i also feel like going...need to buy something that i lost again :embrass:
teerex: remember the ilford sfx filter thingy i posted a while back.
