Hi,
I have 25 rolls of Konica 750mn 120 negative, exp 1993, and 5 rolls of Kodak EIR 35mm exp 2000 in my refrigerator, intended to give away free to anyone interested to use, so can someone collect it from me and share among each other? :dunno:

Hosea - #1 a bit too red for my liking but #2 is GOOD.

Dennis - (DT) Saw your post at dpreview.

Catchlights - maybe IRman would be interested. He's the only one among us shooting film.

Still waiting for posts from Panda and IRman.

Hi Catchlights,

Ya Ya, I am interested to try out the 120 end the expired EIR, need to see the effects. Appreciate your kindness to give away free, let me know where to collect and we welcome you to join our IR community.

thanks

Hello, is anyone from the IR community using Cokin filters for the IR purposes? I want to be able to shoot with my 12-24 Nikkor but the price tag on the 77mm R72 is too high for me.

I am thus considering the alternative of the Cokin adaptor, ring and add on IR filter. The price difference is big!

Any users of Cokin IR filters out there? Would appreciate comments on vignetting or other issues such as compatibility on a 12-24mm or kit lens Nikkor.

All comments are more than welcome. :)

Thanks Prablo, Dennis & Tee for your comments.
Dennis,
This is what I did with a color photo
Decrease the Yellow of hue/saturation to about -50.
Increase the saturation by +40.( optional)
Add Gaussian blur, slide to the blur value
you want.+20 or 30 should be ok. Done ;)

I'm using 87 Lee filter, with Cokin P Gelatin filter holder, bought it from Cathay long long time ago, don’t know still available or not, Cokin have own IR filter meh? Do you know how much is the P size?

Hi catchlights,

Cokin has their own IR filter. Its a relatively new product so you probably wouldnt have heard of it. I didn't too until an alert friend of mine who happens to be a fan of Cokin filters alerted me. I checked their website and its listed there under their 'new' products.

Could I ask how much it would set me back for the 77m adaptor and ring?

Any pointers are more than welcome. :)

I would be interested too. Also want wide angle but filter too expensive.
Was at TK this afternoon and overheard somebody enquiring about Cokin IR filter.

ok: I just checked out my Cokin P with the 82mm filter/sigma 12-24, there is vignetting, and with 1.6 crop, seems like the useful full range is probably at 17.5mm onwards.

however, I notice I can file away about 2 mm around the perimeter, I'll try it one day and let you know..

meanwhile, anyone knows the price of the cokin IR 89B ? may need to buy from bhphotovideo or somewhere if singapore don't have.

*look out for MO heh.

Just took this indoors IR shot of my cat with the Coolpix 950. I wanted to try to see whether IR photography can be done indoors and at night.

1/10s f/2.7 ISO 80
This handheld shot was taken in a dimly lit room and the subject was illuminated by the rays from an infrared heat lamp.

tomcat - any post processing done on that picture? Handheld 1/10sec, very steady hands.

One question - you're shooting thru' infrared filter, and you switched on an infrared heat lamp on the cat. Would this not cancel each other to some extent, depending on the spectrum of the lamp and the filter and render the picture as a normal shot. Just my thoughts, no experience on this. Please enlighten.

Thanks
