The adults who started the demonstration are now no where to be seen.
In comparison , HK is actually getting more autonomy as compared to under their ex colonial leaders.
The whole fiasco instead shows how easily the average citizen can be whipped into a frenzy and taken advantage of without a clear understanding of the situation.
It probably all stems from the general felt notion that most HK citizens feel negatively towards being associated with China and this is what China needs to work on.
Anyway, the protests should be dying down soon ; sadly - in HK the citizens have much more to lose at a personal level as compared to other countries where protesters can afford to camp at airports for months.
From 1842 to 1997, British occupied and colonized Hong Kong for 155 years, without giving any Rights to the HongKees to have any Democracy for One Citizen has One Vote to Voting their own Hong Kong Governor.
Now China give to HongKees One Citizen has One Vote to Voting their own Hong Kong Governor, however, the Candidates of Governor before Election must be assented by the China Authority. And yet the Hongkee students revolt against it, which was incited by some Opposition Parties.
Under155 years British Ruled without Democracy, WHY there was no Opposition Party in Hong Kong daring to Come Out to PROTEST & FIGHT for Pro-Democracy & Democracy for Hong Kong Before 1997...???!!!
Is there any Conspiracy instead of Democracy?!

.....I will continue to protest if I have food and drink but now i have no food and drink and no support, I have no choice but stay and and... or move away as my supporters have all gone into hiding!
Careful now...... HK people generally hate to draw lessons from rival Singapore
We as the Singaporeans with a proud history of democracy can teach Hong Kong people this:![]()
Whatever it is, we are.still alot better off than those hong kees.
Technically hong kong is still a colonised city, from british colony to chinese colony.
Of course they are so jealous of us. We have our own national anthem, can represent ourselves in international arena whether in government or sports. UN recognized us as a sovereign country. Our finance minister sits on the IMF committee. We have own government structure, own army and police, make our own policies and laws.
What does Hong Kong has?
The most i see on fb are people especially activists comparing HK situation to singapore and mocking/taking swipe at singaporeans for being brainwashed by social studies that protests are bad for economy and we should learn from them .
We Singaporean accepts reasonable advice.
How can protest good for the country! People is unproductive, students become defiance and demand unreasonable requests. loss in revenue for the business, students miss lessons, unnecessary resources deploy to handle unproductive activities, loss in world standing e.g. bad reputation for the nation, loss in confidence for investor etc.....one more add relationship between parents and children......U may wish to add.. I think there are more!
