In fact, China has troops garrisoned in Hong Kong. They are quartered in former British Barracks

Whatever it is, we are.still alot better off than those hong kees.

Technically hong kong is still a colonised city, from british colony to chinese colony.

Of course they are so jealous of us. We have our own national anthem, can represent ourselves in international arena whether in government or sports. UN recognized us as a sovereign country. Our finance minister sits on the IMF committee. We have own government structure, own army and police, make our own policies and laws.

Many of the "items" owned by UK privately and in museums were the booty of war, forcible acquisitions etc. This include the big Ruby on the crown of the Queen (India wants it back!).

Hong Kong police would not want to show too much of an iron hand.

They have to let the People Liberation Army who have no sentiment and attachment to Hong Kong people to do the clean up in cold blood.

Mongkok has been cleared this morning ! now left 1 protest site at Admiralty

Will be in Hoing Kong for a week since tomorrow afternoon.

I think I'll see little action. Admiralty is not the place I often visit. But a station after it Wanchai is a good place to go to for a street full of roadside stalls.

Will be Mongkok to visit a large store for decorations to get some faked rose petals and green and autumn leaves for photography.

However I know I will be in supermarket everyday for sure pushing a trolley helping my wife to do her daily marketing.

When me and my wife was in Bangkok.... daily shopping at Big-C near our hotel for snacks that can't be found in SG.... and endless supply of soft-drinks that are alot cheaper than from 7-11 or from the Hotel...
