I was quite lucky to get a fully functional Rolleiflex F 2.8 Planar at a reasonable price but the cost of film, development and scanning is killing me. It is very sharp even at wide open 2.8 but difficult to nail the focus.

You're really lucky.

To think about it, the price of 120 film/roll sometimes is cheaper than 135 film. But you get only 12-15 exposure only. For scanning, you can try pinholecam's DSLR scanning method.

I think the $300 on BnS was the 3.5 version. Still it's quite cheap. Even rolleicord and seagull price, now also around that price.

You can try to do copies with your DSLR.
I did some trials vs my Canon 9000F and am happy enough with the results.

For shops, you can try Konota (but not cheap) or Photo Hub (but rather small file) there is also someone doing it in CS commercial services section IIRC.
Long term, you just have to find a way to do yourself, as you can buy a 9000F for the price of ~20 scan sessions.

Thanks JK. It was developed and scanned in Bandung. The cost for develop+scan+cd is only $2.8/roll

I love the compactness of K 24 on small film body. On digital my k-x and DA 16-45 is quite bulky. Perhaps need to get DA 15 :devil: Really like this focal length.

Another trip to Aroma Coffee factory, Bandung

This factory has been around since 1930, the current owner was the 2nd generation who run this factory (the factory was passed down from his father)

There are two type of coffee this factory sell: Robusta and Arabica. Robusta is a strong coffee, while arabica smells good.

After harvest, the beans aren't directly roasted. They're aged first for few years to reduce the caffeine. For Robusta, it's 5 years, for Arabica, it's 8 years.

They use rubber wood to roast the coffee

Can't remember the lens, probably the A50/1.4 for most of them.

B/W is just so timeless...
sometimes I wish the choice of color is taken away from me in digital.
There is always that dilemma to present in color or b/w and that decision is 'corrupted' by first having viewed the photo in color.

This thread sparked my interest in film and I got myself a Me Super but did not have chance to try it out till last week. A totally new experience which I can only describe as "Simplicity at its hardest".
No preview of photo taken, no shake reduction and no changing of ISO value or white balance. Just aperture, compose, focus and click. A one roll film experience that everyone should try it in their lifetime.
Some shots to share. All taken with FA 28-80 on Kodak Ultramax 400. Colors from the developed film does look better than these self-scans from the 4Rs.
