Today went to the Butterfly Trail at Alexandra Hospital, no more butterfly there, only some small bugs:
like the punk hair style of this fella... :bsmilie:
I have never used any powerful NR program, but it seems that in order to maximize the potential of the K5. A good NR program is a must.

On page 2, they have the settings used (for Topaz Denoise).
I downloaded a trial copy and gave it a try. Wow! I'm impressed.
Now, I need to see if I can find a cheaper and good standalone NR program.

This insect really looks unique with that antenna kinda thing at it's back. Look like a remote controlled toy.:bsmilie:

Yeah, it's a hard to spot 5mm tiny fella. I couldn't confirm it's a bug until I took the photo and viewed it at a bigger size.
My thought too. It's one of the fun part when shooting macros, you don't know what you are going to get every time in the wild

Yeah, somehow this time I captured some unique bugs, but overall turnouts are not as good as what I hoped

Actually I was trying to capture some tiny flies (my favorite macro subjects). But this time they either didn't stay at the same place for more than 2 seconds, or the wind was blowing too hard on the leaves Oh well, there is always a next time.

No, they are not so tiny, mostly around 10mm or there about, some slight bigger, some as small as 5mm. Don't think I've ever shot at a bug as small as 2mm yet

I kinda like this one the best too, for this trip. One lucky shot as well.
I had originally intended to start a thread on ISO12800 and above NR, but seems like I will have to find the right samples :angel:
FA35/2 at various f-stops. These are just normal shots of things around my house in the lighting condition I would find them w/o setting up any lighting.

In good enough lighting, noise is hard to make out.

This one is in low light.
What is the light source?
Light from outside of the flat falling into the bathroom.
This is at f2, 1/40s, ISO12800. In other words, this is very very dim light, but still there is a 1/40s shutter speed.
Cleaned up using NR program (Topaz Denoise) - my weak attempt anyway, so could be better improved
with more tweaking and understanding of the NR program.
Of course DOF is shallow since its f2, but this is certainly something the prev K7 could never do.
