Thanks for sharing Bro WeeKH, great photos.

Certainly impreseed with the low light performance of this PEN.

for yr info..the oly system is the only one i knw of can take a big wedding group photo shot at wide open at f2.8

is it? i think i have at least 10 shots of weddings with >40 pple on stage, each of them very clear and sharp.. and it's done with a canon..

Shutter can be very laggy....

Shutter lag happens when the cam is trying to attain focus. Otherwise there's almost no shutter lag.

AF speed on most subjects are acceptable to me.

Shutter lag? What shutter lag? I din even think about it until u mentioned it. LOL.

U have a full-frame canon? Did u shoot at f2.8?

What are u talking about? The shutter response is virtually instantaneous.

I think that this is not shutter lag by definition. Shutter lag is the delay between when u press the shutter button and when the shutter opens or in this case, when the sensor captures the image.

The delay between half-press to AF lock is the AF speed.

In the EP-1, there is a momentary delay while the AF locks. Once AF lock, u are right, there is no shutter lag. U can release before AF lock if u choose, (depending on setting), but image may not be in focus yet.

Strange that I'm the only one who feels that there is a shutter lag. Maybe it is just perception. After focusing, when I press the shutter, there is a split second before the image is captured. Very much like a P&S. The battery's endurance is also very disappointing.

what is your problem? is Olympus full frame? and yes i shoot at f2.8 full open, i like to bring in some ambient light.

i've taken 600-700 shots of raw on a single charge of battery.
i don't use AF, and RAW only. so i guess i save batt on af motor, image processing and af detection. i'm pretty sure too that the face detection would require power to drive the processor...
and i put img review at 1sec, sometimes i just half press the shutter to cancel it.

personally the shutter lag of the ep1 is not affecting me much.

i never tried any dslr's liveview mode, so i can't compare to that
(just realised this, either i'm so back dated or this didn't appealed to me before)
with the ep1, i've no choice.

if being really really picky, and put things into perspective, my nikon d200 feels a bit laggy to my leica m6. imaging resource records the d200 lag as 57ms. leica Ms are 50ms, depends on age and how often it's been serviced, mine's not serviced for 9yrs+.

the ep1 according to imaging resource spots a 72ms lag, tat's bout 40% more than my m6.

anyone as a kid ever played with those stopwatches used at sports meets? i remember my friends and i would love to challange each other see who can start and stop the fastest, and it's really hard to get it under 100ms. had to place it on the floor and use the arms and twitch to get a shorter timing, instead of using just thumb n press press... hehe

also think, if shooting film that nite, 700+ shots would require 20 rolls of my $8.5 film = $170, plus $5.5 for processing n a 16base scan = $110. Making pht cost of that nite $280...
'reducing' the cost of my ep1 from $1600 to $1320... just need about another 5 nights with 700+phts to make it worth my money... haha

Hi weekh, may i ask if u tried some manual lenses on the EP1 like those Leicas u used to play with? Is the focus easy with such lenses on the big LCD? thx :)

I've just bought the 2 Lumix wide and tele zooms to complete the m43 setup.
Selling many stuffs in b&s... no $$$ to play with the manual lenses for now...

Problem? Is there a problem wid my questions?

And yes, not sure if u know, but the 4/3 system is a full frame system. There is no sensor crop.

For ur 40 person wedding shot at 2.8, where everyone was sharp, were they all in the same row?

I am glad tat u are happy with ur system and doing well with it.
