i've taken 600-700 shots of raw on a single charge of battery.
i don't use AF, and RAW only. so i guess i save batt on af motor, image processing and af detection. i'm pretty sure too that the face detection would require power to drive the processor...
and i put img review at 1sec, sometimes i just half press the shutter to cancel it.
personally the shutter lag of the ep1 is not affecting me much.
i never tried any dslr's liveview mode, so i can't compare to that
(just realised this, either i'm so back dated or this didn't appealed to me before)
with the ep1, i've no choice.
if being really really picky, and put things into perspective, my nikon d200 feels a bit laggy to my leica m6. imaging resource records the d200 lag as 57ms. leica Ms are 50ms, depends on age and how often it's been serviced, mine's not serviced for 9yrs+.
the ep1 according to imaging resource spots a 72ms lag, tat's bout 40% more than my m6.
anyone as a kid ever played with those stopwatches used at sports meets? i remember my friends and i would love to challange each other see who can start and stop the fastest, and it's really hard to get it under 100ms. had to place it on the floor and use the arms and twitch to get a shorter timing, instead of using just thumb n press press... hehe
also think, if shooting film that nite, 700+ shots would require 20 rolls of my $8.5 film = $170, plus $5.5 for processing n a 16base scan = $110. Making pht cost of that nite $280...
'reducing' the cost of my ep1 from $1600 to $1320... just need about another 5 nights with 700+phts to make it worth my money... haha
