this is tempting!!! all pics so nice!

why? Can u explain to me?
think better not ot in mr wee thread anymore
nothing special it what every 4/3 users already knw...the system inherently have a deeper depth of field due to the curse/blessing of the size of it sensor....it much easier to shoot a group with a 4/3 system than with a apsc and ff system.

it even more impressive what it can achieve with wide angle taken at fully wide open at inifinity..fyi my last try was a group at more than 50 metres away the pic is tack sharp.

I've just bought the 2 Lumix wide and tele zooms to complete the m43 setup.
Selling many stuffs in b&s... no $$$ to play with the manual lenses for now...

Oh what a pity. Those were very good stuff u have there. Thot u might have some experience with the legacy lenses on the LCD. Well there'll always be a next chance :D

Dun mind i ask which lens u used? The only 2 good wide ones i tried was the 7-14 but its F4 not 2.8 & the 14-35 F2. The other wide zoom i tried can't really pull it off, namely 11-22, 14-54. Those lower end kit lens no need to mention...

Nice big lotus flower. Shot in SBG? Next time i also want to try shooting flowers instead of the usual insects. ;)

Not at SBG. Went down to the orchid farms at Sungei Tengah last weekend. There was a pot of lotus at one of the farms there. Shot taken with the kit m43 zoom lens.. not too bad for such a cheapo lens right? :)

This is an awesome shot! Looks like my mother in law screaming! :bsmilie:
Thanks. This is a shot of the Tiger Orchid... the flower of the world's largest orchid plant. They don't bloom that frequently but when they do, the sprays of flowers are spectacular ! The Tiger Orchids in Singapore seem to be blooming at this time... probably due to the looming weather changes like the El Nino. SBG has a few really large specimens and might be blooming at the moment too. :)

Wow nice le. So big & so close. Cud this be another "Close encounter of the 3rd kind II"? Stay tune to find out :bsmilie::bsmilie:

I'll need to do the pixel peeping on this one to see how the new kit lens perform. Wonder if there'll be a SHG lens for the pen series? That'll be totally awesome!! Light & super duper quality!

Thanks for the insight. Didn't know this. I think I should pay the Orchid Garden a visit.

Quite impressed with the performance of the kit lens.

the panny 14-50mm f2.8-3.5

the panny 14-50mm f2.8-3.5

Is it the Leica? Haven't tried that one B4. On the side note, why wud anyone wants to shoot a group shot at 2.8? Personally, i use 4 ~ 8 juz to be sure everyone in the shot looks sharp even on the 4/3 cams. I did some coverage for events b4 & its like a lecture hall size & full of people, i was on the stage, also use F4 on the 14-54 le, not 2.8 cos the DOF juz can't cover.

But i believe the bottom line is that every brand has their lenses optimised according to their sensor & technology integrated. This is the reason why there exist diff crop sizes & none looks bad at all. I personally dun believe there's one no.1 brand around. :)

Back to cosycatus comments on ambient light with 2.8, i think u can also get ambient light with F5.6, its a matter of balancing the DOF, ISO, shutter speed & lightings. If i had done it in F5.6 with ambient lighting, i dun see why only 2.8 can give that result.

Edited: After some thinking about it, if the group shot is at 50m away, not really of a challenge technically. Reason being that if the lens hits infinity after 20m, then everything beyond wud look sharp, & that can be achieved easily with any brand. The challenging bits wud be the group shot at 5 - 8m away, really dun think 2.8 has enuf DOF for the job (providing its 3 tier group shot not single line).

Was this taken at Kenko? Their business must be good - look at the size of the fish!

i didn't said 5.6 can't capture ambient lighting
i just said that 4/3 system had the advantage of having a greater dof..given the same f stop if u compare to apsc and ff at the same focal length and distance

No. At Qian Hu. I think only Qian Hu has such a huge concrete fish spa pool which can sit more than 50 people all round. In fact, they actually have 2 such pools, one with the usual small fishes and another with these huge fishes for the brave-at-hearts who desire stronger sensations. :)
