The camera is humongous and heavy....need two xiao mei meis to hold it up.

I find it much lighter than what i expected.

X-pro1 is surprisingly light which I dont like it and IMO, lighter than X100 with 18mm with hood... AF speed is as same as X100 and unable to focus subject within 1-2 feet away under Suntec IT show Hall.

Ever occurred to you to check the min. focus distance?

Again with the "Camera is too light" nonsense. I suppose people only feel comfortable with carrying a brick.

I think its part of the handling experience, cant fault people. Its the same thing when we said about certain cameras in the past that feels like a toy , plasticky etc.

The CG of the camera is probably higher as its taller , hence , giving people a light weighted feeling, could be an intended design for all you know.

yah i agree. some ppl like it some don;t, so cannot label as "nonsense" just because you dun like it.

cheers! =)

I really think the age of macho big DSLR+Lenses has made that the norm. :D

agree. i'm just simply loving my X-PRO1 now. lol. =D

Handled the x pro 1. Was quite nice, I liked the weight. Don't all of you know how to travel light? Hate heavy gear. Anyway viewfinder is big and bright, both ovf and evf. One setback would be the slightly slow af.

Is it just me or does the X-pro 1s on display focus even slower ? Just got one and it seems to focus quite abit faster than the ones i tries at the show.

Nonetheless happy with the performance so far ! Waiting to shoot manual lenses on it !

Too light?

Actually I felt that the camera is too heavy.

X100 weight is alright.
X-Pro1 + 18mm lens weight is slightly alright.
X-Pro1 +35mm lens weight is borderline heavy.

I wish it was much lighter. 150g lighter will be even better.

For those who want heavier cameras, there's always the Nikon/Canon FF and Crop cameras available for you.

When are we expecting to see this baby on the street :D

google translation of dslr magazine's (spanish) review of the x-pro1 and xf lenses:

Google Translate

in short, all three lenses were received well, with the 60mm judged as an optically superb lens...

simply love the colors from xpro1 so far.

cant see any difference in them. looks the same to me

af seems to be snappier with power saving mode set to off... and dont forget to disable "silent" mode, since it oso disables the led af assist. i just set my operations volume to minimum instead of using "silent" mode
