Fujifilm X-Pro1

Shooting in JPEG fine since I am also using Macbook. The output is quite amazing compared to my old Nikon 7000.

Yup - that is the ACS audi. I am on AE multi, but I generally dialed the exposure by 1/3. I thought the pictures looked a bit too bright on the LCD and then on my Macbook Air.

The reason is pretty simple. You set the LCD screen on high. The Macbook Air screen is it calibrated?

1/3 on multi and when background is 85 percent white will always make the camera underexpose. +1

I thought I posted a message during the day...anyhows...

Guys, how do you do post processing on the raw files now? I'm using a Mac and the inbuilt software does not support Lion yet, nor is there any Adobe support as of now...

Purely JPGs still?

I give you a better idea. Shoot RAW and then post process it in camera. The JPEG engine in camera is way better than even Lightroom. Even if I need to do something with RAW, i reserve it for times when the lighting condition is pretty bad or I need to do bracketing.

I totally agree with you. The JPEGs from the X-Series has better image output then from RAW itself. That in itself is a godsend for me when it comes to datelines. And yes I shoot JPEGs primarily because this is the way I force myself to be better. If I keep relying on RAW as insurance, I will get lazy; I won't stay on my toes. I only shoot RAW when it is for big prints or when there are 3000 shots to hand over to the clients in 3 days time then I better shoot properly with JPEGs.

It is a personal matter but I do challenge those who shoot RAW to really force yourself to shoot good JPEGs. After a while you won't have to over rely on RAW (and keep buying terabytes of HDD space) and find that your shots are quite good already that only need to do some tweaking.

I'm intrigued by the image of the women crossing the street. The bus in the background seems to have multiple ghost images. Perhaps due to street lamp flicker?

Not directly related but he is using x-pro1

Looks like the great photographic community is taking in the XPRO1 very well

Nope - just the shutter speed I think. It should have been more of a blur, but the shutter speed was a bit too fast for that.

For academic purposes, just checking what's the average price of X-Pro 1 locally now, body + 35mm? And the leather case/grip pricing?

Wow I'm already seeing a set at BnS.

WOW. Impulse buying?

anyone know where can get to test drive ?

Went shooting with the camera tonight. AF could lock but much slower. Also moving while focusing is almost impossible :( .
Hopefully when we use manual lenses, maunaul focusing can be done with the EVF...

However must add that high iso was really good.

Just saw someone shooting with the xp1 @ Singapore river. Wonder if it's a CSer. Comparatively I only saw someone with a NIKON 1 after like 5 months after launch.
