Fujifilm X-Pro1

Pentax could release a K-02 with full-frame sensor, there are still a few full-frame lenses for K-mount in production. :-P

Full frame mirrorless s a matter of time. I guess it will come 2013. Look at Nikon D700 and D300s, or Canon 5DII and 7D. Both camera are about same size, but one is cropped sensor the other is full frame. I believe Nex5N/7, K-01 body is big enough to put a FF sensor. It is the technology of processor, and the ability to extract the max resolution for the current lens setup.

Does anyone knows when Fuji X-Pro1 will be sold in Singapore?

is it me or what, but i hate the design, it's ugly! the slope and the bump in front of the camera to have extra grip yaiks! they should have stick to the x100/x10 design. the design and the IQ are the reasons why the fujix100/x10 are so successful. you take away the design, so the IQ is the only thing left to like. if they wanted to put extra bump there for the grip they should have taken que from olympus omd, it's not too loud and it's like part of the camera design unlike the xpro1 that is out of place, or just been added in the last minute arrrgh!
The design is closer to the old Hasselblad XPan of which Fuji had a hand in designing.

i understand that the design changes were meant for ergonomics and handling, but it's not the selling point that makes the x100 so successful, fuji could have just made it as an optional accessories.

U can use leica m8/m9 as a benchmark, true mirrorless with big bright rf viewfinder.

Did anyone managed to get estimated prices? I just called SLRR and the feedback I've received was not very positive. SA mentioned retail prices will be 10-20% higher as compared to US prices (USD1700 for body alone). He added that body alone will be around SGD3,000 +/-. With any lens its gonna be 3.7-8?

:sweat::sweat:

This camera is tempting!! any idea when is the release date in SG? ;X

you can get to try it out on the upcoming IT show which is happening @ March 8-11 '2012!! Pre-order are available at the Fujifilm booth too!

Wah..$3K?! Seriously very expensive.. I was hoping max is 2.2k Body only.. If really around $3K, I will not be able to buy liao..:(

Yes that was what the SA from SLRR said, 3K or almost close to that for body alone. Its crazy man... :(

what is the justification for the pricing to be at $3k++ ? If i top up a few hundred more I can get 5D Mark II full frame... :what:

Too expensive sigh. 2K for body is ok I think.

wanted to get the cam but at this pricing, might consider the olympus em-5 or d800/d800e instead

I think its due to the hype and generally Fuji prices are 10-20% higher than the US prices. But dont quote me for it, best to call and check as it may change when they are released.

Dont lose your hopes guys, this beauty is WORTH getting.

Amazon JP selling at ¥ 135,000 . which is around $2.2k++ SGD.. so I think $3k+ body in SG is quite impossible.
http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/switch-l...QXO/ref=dp_change_lang?ie=UTF8&language=en_JP

going for a set body + 35mm F1.4 is around $3k+ SGD. ¥184,320

so those who are keen in this camera, dont lose hope yet as what theRenaissance has mentioned. ;P

i'm afraid that it might not as simple as that, as it has to do with the image circles producted from the lenses.

the M8 and M9 example works, as does the N and C, because the image from the M, FX and EF lenses are full-frame, filling the 24×36mm sensor or film.

now look at the m43 lenses, their image circles are to fit the m43 sensor. putting in a larger sensor is like trying to mount a DX or EF-S lens on a FF body.

a FF mirrorless maybe a matter of time, but unfortunately, it will require a new range of compatible FF lenses as well.

interesting thought is that if nikon could jam a FF sensor into a mirrorless body, and with the use of the nikon mount adapter FT1, use the FF lenses already... hhhmmm... but that sort of defeats much of the point of a smaller compact mirrorless camera. i suspect that it is probably more of a lens development / design issue than a simple matter of squeezing in a larger sensor. in which case, lens development maybe quite hefty to get an AF lense with FF images with a short flang distance to sensor in a nice compact size.

Fully agree and that;s why I tot Pentax has a smart move, though being late comer to mirrorless. now a APS-C sensor K-01 that with full range of compatible FF lenses. it is matter of time when it makes economical sense to have FF sensor into a mirrorless body.

they could keep the same production line of K mount. i am drooling for their DAL pancake lens.

Having said that , Pentax could only appeal more to existing K mount users and has little to offer to someone not using the k mount. Which is why their appeal is not as strong compared to other mirrorless.

The Xpro-1 may manifest in a fullframe form. No doubt, the Fuji cameras are great. But unfortunately, their pricing leaves much to be desired, save those who either like its form so much that its worth the extra premium.

I dont think body would be 3k in Sg. 3k would be body plus lens plus GST . Thats my take.

we have the dslr people to blame for that. lose the grip and the dslr users will complain about how difficult is it to hold a rectangular camera.

If the camera body price is S$2.5k - S$3K, it is still expensive,
Might as well get the Canon 5D mk2 or Nikon D700, it a full frame, sure gives a piece of mind after purchased.
And resale value also good.
Fuji should review the price tag for fuji X-pro1 if they wants to have good sales and respond for this model.
