hmm, need to upgrade firmware to use SD card?

hmm my one, once bought can use SD card.

my guess new set on the market now use new firmware. lol.....i dunno :dunno:

i believe they're referring to SDHC cards, and not the generic SD cards.

S5700 by default can use SD cards.
I always swap around my xD and SD cards for this camera.

S8000fd or S6500fd for you?
But I am not so sure about the prices.... paid 599 for S6500fd about 3 months back...
Go check out COMEX next weekend...

Hope this helps...

whoa! wad a clean pic of the orange-red moon! out of extreme curiosity, may i know where u took it? =]

Hey guys? My friend is considering the S5700 at Comex (great deal there), but I keep reading in reviews that it doesn't have stabilization. Does it or does it not have image stabilization when shooting in manual and filming? Thanks in advance!

it does. but it's more accurately known as picture stabilisation, which is apparently just the pumping up of ISOs. iirc, only the newer models have lens-type stabilisation.

So basically, this camera doesn't have the sort of image stabilization as the Lumix's? The mode-selectable stuff that constantly steadies the image or steadies just before the shot?

We're trying to decide between the Fuji S5700 and Lumix FX-12

yup, tt's without a doubt. pana's cams have been using lens-type stabilisation technology till now, which on the contrary, only made its debut in fuji's recent models. if image stabilisation is one of the needs u seek for in a cam, den i'd recommend pana's lumix series. fuji's cams are well known for their capabilities of handling high ISOs.

hmm, think it's not true. just dont use the auto mode... the auto mode tends to increase the ISO, making the pictures grainy.. use manual mode with tripod instead. :)
