hi all,

i am new here, :D

hahaha my T3 went to hospital, was looking around and realised S5700 like good buy.

can i ask why is that you all perfer S5600?

S5700 video cannot record voice ah?
S5600 comes with Super CCD sensor which S5700 doesn't have. ;)

hi all, i got s5700..... :sticktong

Can the S5700 fit in wide angle lens? Any reasonably priced ones to recommend? Cuz after taking the pictures at the fireworks festival, i realise i need wide angle to get a bigger overall view of the area.

Not cheap

hi all, just went to challenger. 389 for the 5700 and comes with a 1gb card, pouch, cleaning kit and a mini tripod.

however any any recommendations for me? my budget ranges from 400-530+ (below 600 lah.)

heard good stuff about 5700 but also some negative stuff, so im trying to look for a camera with the most bang for my buck.

S8000fd or S6500fd for you?
But I am not so sure about the prices.... paid 599 for S6500fd about 3 months back...
Go check out COMEX next weekend...

Hope this helps...

I can say... for a newbie trying to learn manual mode and exposure settings can get this camera because of the long zoom and very affordable pricing.
Some of its drawbacks are as follows:
1. Very strong chromatic aberration, ie purple fringing.
2. Shutter speed of 1/1000 - 4 secs.
3. Very noisy at ISO 400.

ahh yes. i heard about the 1/1000 - 4secs shutter speed, really very little range there, even my ixus 400 has up to 15 seconds. :(

so do you guys recommend any other camera brands ? :(

oh yes, i see that the fujifilm website theres 5800. singapore not yet arrive ah? :(

end up having F31fd to supplement low-light, night and travel photography.
Btw S5700 is not using Super CCD...just take note.

So i conclude S5700 is for people who are tight on budget and cannot afford something like Canon S5 IS.

correct! i am one of those ppl. :embrass: overall, the S5700 is quite a value-for-money model, though it has its flaws. S5800 is almost the same as S5700 except that it is 8mp.

I can only say... work within it's limit.
So far I'm gettting good results with buildings and macro, which you can see from my link below.
As for landscapes, don't do it on harsh daylight, else CA is alot.

And also did a bit black and white people portrait snapshots, not bad.
But better not post up internet.

can anyone post up night shots using the 5700? :) much appreciated.

u need to wait till 15 sept, after i'm done with it.
But most of the shots might be done by my F31fd instead.

oh i see. but can i have your opinion on how it fares? like traffic shots, buildings, street shots. planning to get either 5700 or 6500fd soon. :)

depends on skills and composite.
Generally i think only so-so average or even below average.
6500fd is a better camera.

The 5700 has a "normal" CCD sensor whereas the 6500 has the Super CCD HR sensor.
